That advice must have worked... he didn't reply...
The last I've read about this conversion is this March 25 post. Has anything changed? I'll be doing this soon, I hope.
Thanks for the great how-to.

I followed the proceedures and have converted 2 FLU's all the way to the PUFF versions... The remotes for both of the newley configured STB's work PURRRRRFECTLY...
Maby a fresh set of batteries would help your plight...

hi guys,
I'm a newbie to FTA and trying to load a bin on to my Fortec Lifetime Ultra receiver for the first time. The first question I have is where can you get the bin files mentioned in this post? whenever i try to download any files from this site, I get the mesg that you have to be a paying member.
I was able to find and download the 1st bin file mentioned and tried to load using the blacklist loader. I clicked on Write Bin as soon as "P" appeared ... the dash appeared later. The install then failed with Er2. I tried it again and this time the P and then F come up but no dash and if I click on write bin, nothing happens. any help would be much appreciated.
thank you.

Re: Converting fortec ---> pansat and how to load bin on pansat
Dont make ur FLU a doorstep. It is much better than the CS 4/5/6k. Just jtag it back to life. its pretty easy
http://www.abadss.com/forum/10-forte...tag-ultra.html
That link I gave you wil revive ur FLU, even if its dead. I have tested it and it works
