Download won't take
I have a couple of flu sitting around so I thought I'd convert them to use as second receivers for picture in picture. I don't know why but i can't get any of the down loads to initialize, any suggestions.

Re: Download won't take
Biggest trick to these is to hit the download button after you turn the back power switch on and see the first light. Next problem is what cable did you use, if you can't upload from the stb then you probably have the wrong cable or port selected.

Re: Download won't take
I got the timing down and right com port. I've tried with the null modem I guess I'll need a straight serial cable, thats as old as the stb.

Re: Download won't take
I have converted 3 of them myself and yes it need a regular serial cable (rs232)
I do reccomend that you go for the puff conversion...the difference is that just using the boot 75 upgrade, you will have to rescan your channels every time you load a new bin!!!!
The puff coversion corrects this problem
