skeptical newbie. fired dn for raisin' my rate twice my one year 'contract.' called 'em at the end of month 12 and fired the tarnation out of 'em. been w/out any kind of feed for 'bout 2 years. the equipment i got with this house dominates the side yard. it's a big gray plastic (two meter?) dish that did a good job of bringin' in dn. leftover from my kickin' dn out the door are two receivers, one a dvr. dish is about aimed at the ground on accounta i'm at 61 degrees north 150 west (alaska). skepticism comes from the high horizon here at the house (mountainous). this dish may have been able to see dn's bird, but i doubt it'll be able to see anything lower. have real misgivings about motorizing the dish on accounta the wind loads we see. 90 mph+ gusts are not rare enough (views up here rock though - price price one pays for living in the view).

anyway, i'll be reading to see if i can grasp enough basics to make an investment in equipment to fire up a coupla tvs for junior and the wife. cable company has... a reputation - deserved, i don't know. i do know they're spendy as heck.

welcome to the site , we have a very powerful search tab located at the top right type in what you are looking for.also we have a forum tab on the left it will let scroll down until you see what you need.there are catagories on recievers , dish types , switches, and so on and so forth.evertything anyone could need can be found.if you still can't find what you need go to the general chit chat and type in your question.always type as much info as you know , reciever type , firmware version , dish type , lnb type and settings be sure to include what birds you are trying to catch.you will see why this is the best fta forum on the web.

I guess to make things simplier, I am looking for information on the Skytech 2700 A or what my friend calls it Pansat 2700 A clone. I know very little at this point and would like to start with the basic's and work my way up.

Always go by the release date on the bin. The newer the date, the newer the bin...
