Loading Bins into Max HD

I am using my trusty Cruzer 4gb USB drive but I tried plugging it into the Max using the front USB port(It is chosen in the menu) but it wont see the drive. I tried to Format using the menu but I tried doing it "Fat 32" and Ext2 but it always says Format failed. I also tried turning it off and then on again to see if it would see it but nothing. What gives?

Re: Loading Bins into Max HD

Never mind. I got it. Looks like the Max HD can't read a 4gig USB drive for upgrades. I dug up an old Micro SD card I use to use for my 3500SD and USB adapter formatted it and it was reconized quikly. Thanks

Re: Loading Bins into Max HD

it was under 4gb. I think the Cruzer had some auto start programs on it that I could not completely remove.

Re: Loading Bins into Max HD

I've always recomended to all my buds ...(if original needs replaced)...to use the Smallest usb drive or sd card they have...128mb 256mb they seem to work better.

Re: Loading Bins into Max HD

My Cruzer 4GB works well with this unit. I removed the auto start program on it, formatted again & it played well with uncle Max.

put thumb drive in pc and erase everything off of it
if it has an autostart program on it i don't think your box will read it

Re: Loading Bins into Max HD

The scandisk cruzer has a U3 component attached to it and that is not compatable to Vs stbs. If you go to the Scandisk website, they will guide you through the removal process and you can use it on your Box.

"bin der, done dat".
