Semi-Newbie Needs Help

I got my Max HD about a week ago, and I'm having an issue with it, but I'm not sure what the cause is yet.

I have a Dish 500 sat connected directly to my receiver. When I first got my box, I loaded the newest bin, setup satellites, scanned... and everything was working great for about a day. Then the next day, my screen would go black about every 5-10 seconds, for about 2 seconds.

So I reloaded the factory default bin, did factor resets, loaded newest bin, re-setup everything... again, worked great for about a day, then the intermittent black screens again.

I've done this process about 3 times now with the same result every time. I'm kinda new to this stuff, so go easy on me. I borrowed a Pansat from a friend for a month before I got this receiver to get a feel for setting everything up, and had no issues with that one, so I'm kinda lost.

I think the max is having issues controlling the switches. The last release had some bugs fixed however they never addressed any switch issues. They did address an issue with sw44 with the PFTAHDMSW-081008HM release. I can't say for certain but I would think this might have something to do with your problems, and unfortunately a new file will be needed if this is the case.

there still trying to work out the bugs for the max as its relatively new and one of those bugs is a switch problem. Like most new receivers we will have for these small glitches to be attended to so for now a little patience is needed and be sure to keep checking the download section for new file releases

Ok, i don't mind waiting out a fix, i just wanted to make sure it wasn't something i had setup incorrectly.
