Re: IHUB for NEWBIES
Hey I pretty much was doing fine until charlie zapped us. I have been looking into this ihub, just wanted a little info on it. Does it require a sat? Does it require a dedicated computer? Can I use it with a viewsat ultra? Will it work even with the current problem with the n3? Is it much harder to master then the conventional way? Tahnks as always.

Re: IHUB for NEWBIES
I have been trying to get this Ihub updated to Ver. 1.4 for the last 3 days.
I run a Ethernet cable from my Linksys Router into my Ihub when receiever power on.
I then run a Ethernet cable from my Laptop to the Router.
I run the WIZnet program and as soon as I hit search I get (Invalid Parameter Value) and none of my numbers are correct...
It comes up with version 82.0 and not connected on the right hand side.
First Tab:
My local IP comes up as 24.222.42.45 Port: 65535
Subnet: 255.255.252.0
Gateway: 24.222.40.1
PPPoe ID: weird symbols
Password: weird symbol
Server IP: 77.93.75.89 Port: 1920
Operation Mode: Mixed
my use DNS server IP comes up: 24.222.0.94
Domain Name: SVFTAIKS.COM.
Second Tab: (Serial)
All is blank except for None un der Flow.
Third Tab: (Options)
Inactivity time: 8
Time: 0
Size: Blank
Char: Blank
Password: enable not checked and password blank but has (Max 8 Bytes) in red.
Seial Configuation: Enable not checked, Code blank but (in Hex) is red.
I have tried EVERTHING!
I am using win Vista, went under Windows Security essentials and turned Firewall off.
Went to cnd.exe>ipconfig.
Placed my IP, submask, Gateway changed ports both to 1920 used DNS and left it 24.333.0.94.
(says in my info on the compter):
IPv4 DNS Servers: 24.222.0.94, 24.222.0.95
(Not sure why there are more then one?)
I tried everything. I loaded old files, factory files, cleansyatem files and NOTHING works.
The Ihub lights up and looks active so I know it Is not dead….
Please Help. And the receiver doesn’t pick it up as well.
I just want to connect to the Ihub to run the R100 file then updats. When I click setting i just get error...

Re: IHUB for NEWBIES
Sorry I missed the VISTA part. I tried for an hour to walk TOE(another member here) thru the setup on the phone, but he has Vista and I have XP, so it was very frustrating no knowing exactly what TOE was seeing. XP is so simple. Vista asks you 40 questions before you can execute anything,, ARRGGGHH.
Did you read the Wiznet document that comes with the download?? It explains what to do for Vista USERS. The first being, TURN off your FIREWALL. The second being when you run Wiznet to check DIRECT IP SEARCH. Hopefully someone else who is running Vista, and who was successful in updating to 1.4 will help us/you out.
Close Wiznet. Leave the IHUB plugged to receiver. Go to IP config, make sure your IHUB settings are what they should be. Now. Turn off receiver, then turn it off with the switch on the back. Turn off modem/router. Power up Modem first, then router. Check your Laptop to makes sure you have Internet connection. Turn on switch from back of receiver, turn on receiver. Open Wiznet(the PC your running wiznet on has to be on the same network the Ihub is connected to), click search, click upload, and put in ROM 0100 bin to reset the Ihub.
.
DON"t EVER click on settings if you get the Version 82 error in Wiznet. Clicking on Settings SAVES those error parameters, which you don't want.
