slingbox n fusion bin for solaris, pheonix, and hd
This is not my post i tried this bin and it is working for hd and phoniex please pm me your info so i can send you the bin i could not download the bin on this post because i guess admin have to authorize it if some one tell me i will dowload bin to this section only 2kb
The biggest hangup, or issue was, that you cannot create a picture of the nFusion remote with 51 buttons and 4 selectable devices.
The only option is using the Slingbox Generic Remote which has ALOT less buttons. This means I had to sacrifice the music buttons, and some of the less important ones. If you really want music, try Pandora! lol!
I can guarantee you that you can update the guide, and add satellites if you need to, use the wish list function, and edit anything in the menus. This was a huge hurdle to overcome, because of the lack of buttons on the Generic Remote. This also means the Generic Remote does not have the red, green, yellow, or blue buttons on the front of it, however the ARE there! :~) You just have to know where to look.
So how do you install this file for your Slingbox? Well, first off, the file is called "S2040_PL.bin", but all you'll need to enter is "S2040". Let me explain.
I'm currently at Slingbox Version 2.0.2.500... These instructions should work for version 2 and up.
1. Your going to need to download the file.
2. Unzip file, and put the "S2040_PL.bin" in the following directory.
3. C:\Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer\SBAV\
4. Start up the Slingbox program, and you should see your tv picture on your laptop.
5. On the top menu bar, select Settings, and then Setup Assistant.
6. At the bottom left of the Setup Assistant, select "Configure Video Sources"
7. Click the RESET button on whatever input your using, then click OK to confirm, then click NEXT at the bottom right of the screen.
8. Enter "Satellite Receiver" from the drop down box.
9. Enter a ZIP code and then select DISH (*town) from the dropdown box. For Canadian members, select the closest US state. Use Google to find a zipcode. In this case, I selected 14201 for Buffalo NY, and then "DISH Buffalo" from the dropdown box.
10. Click NEXT at the bottom right corner.
11. For the question "Who manufactured your Satellite Receiver", select "OTHER" at the bottom of the list, and click next.
12. Next Sling will load a channel lineup (you won't need) Click NEXT at the bottom of the screen.
13. Setup Assistant will ask you for a remote code. Scroll to the bottom of the list, and select "Custom"
14. A box will appear, and ask to enter a custom code. (You should have already put the file S2040_pl.bin in the SBAV folder in step 3.
15. Enter "S2040" in the Custom Code Box. (Make sure it's with a capital "S") If you use a small "s", Slingbox will tell you the remote control code is not valid.
16. DO NOT hit ENTER or RETURN.. Simply enter "S2040" in the Custom Code Box, and click the Test Remote POWER button. You'll see your tv either power on or off in the top left corner. Give it a minute to communicate with your Slingbox.
17. Click next, and then next again when no update is found.
18. In the first dropdown box, select fast. Then select the first "5", and select YES about the "enter" key.
19. Next, select a channel like 500, and click the send button. Your channels should change no problem.. Click NEXT at the bottom of the screen.
20. Click APPLY to save your settings, and then CLOSE.
You should now see your TV picture, and a generic remote. If you do not see the remote, at the top left of the Sling screen, there is an icon of a remote.. Press the icon button to see the remote.
At the top left of the remote, there is a MENU button. This is how you access the color buttons. If you press the MENU button, and scroll down to CUSTOM, there are 4 custom buttons not seen on the remote.
Custom 10 = RED button
Custom 11 = GREEN button
Custom 12 = YELLOW button
Custom 13 = BLUE button
The other MENU button between GUIDE and INFO in the center of the remote, is the button to get into the nFusions setup features. Don't be confused with the additional MENU button at the top of the remote. If I could have changed the names, I certainly would have.
Most of the original nFusions buttons are there, and work 100%. I mainly use the lower 2/3rds of the remote (use that little down arrow at the top right of the remote to scroll down).
This file will work for the Nova, Solaris, Pheonix, and the HD unit for now, until SlingMedia creates their file for the Slingbox.
