settings for Nano and dish 500?
I cannot get 110 and 119 when after setting my Nano up. I just disconnected my coolsat 6100 and replaced it with a CNX Nano and need a bit of help. My reception is great and i am aimed at the 2 separate birds with 95% signal. My problem is after scanning for channels I usually get 110 twice or 119 twice or sometimes 119 half of them or the same with 110. Here are my settings below for a Dishnetwork 500 dish with 2 lnb's built into one with internal switch. Can someone assist me with the correct settings for a Conaxsat Nano? Thankyou!
DP Twin/Quad using internal switching for dn
Echo 7 119W
DISEqC # 1
TP 12239
LNB DishPro 1
22KHZ Tone - off
M D S - off
Echo 8/10 110W
DISEqC # 2
TP 12224
LNB DishPro 1
22KHZ Tone - off
M D S - off

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
you need to delete all your channels prior to scanning. this will get rid of duplicate channels.

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
The 95% signal is the STB reading the LNB. What is your quality, this is what you use to determine if you are receiving the Sat signal. When you are getting double channels, this means your dish is not aligned right and you are scanning the same sat twice...

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
I am on both 110 and 119 birds separately. I know this for sure as I just had a coolsat 6100 for over a year on that dish watching both 110 and 119. Also my signal and my quality are both at 95%. I had a coolsat 6000 before the 6100 and all is well with my sats. I was getting double channels sometimes because my settings were wrong after scanning for channels. Sometimes I would get only some of 110 and some of 119 channels. My setting are definetaly wrong. ...........Anyway, does anyone know the settings for the Conaxsat Nano and a Dishnetwork 500 dish with 2 lnbs in one with internal diseqc switch?
Thankyou.

I always do a factory default to reset and delete all channels before trying a new setting for channel search.

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
Try this...
110
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12224
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 2
motor -off
legacy switch -off
For 119,
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12239
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 1
motor -off
legacy switch -off

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
Thanks JC7257. I put the setting as you stated but my options for lnb type dont give me the option for OCS-DP. The options for this receiver for Lnb type are listed below:............. Do you know which one I might try? I was always trying DISHPRO while trying a channel search.
DISHPRO 1
DISHPRO FSS
11250
UNIVERSAL 1
UNIVERSAL 2
5150
5750

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
once you set up your diseq , just go to the bottom of the menu and hit search. Are you doing it this way?

When you are in the channel search menu.....does the banner at the bottom match the bird you have selected at the top?

Oddly enough it matches sometimes and sometimes it is the opposite. Very strange.

The only time I've seen this is when I tried to set up a with a sub connected to the loop through port. Do you have anything connected to the loop through? Is this connected to a loop through? Is there anything else connected to the LNBs?

No I am not subbed to dish.....My next step is to check my signal from my neighbors tree. It has matured and I am wondering if it is blocking my signal at times...Although it says 95% signal. Hmmmmmm.

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
Hello. Here's my two cents. Now, in regards to your previous post above about stating 95% signal, remember that this is related to your connection between LNB and STB. What you want is 95% QUALITY. What does your "Q" say when you are trying to search channels? Try the below settings and see if it works. Again, you stated internal switch in your original post, so you may want to change MDS and DiSEqC options.
Echo 7 119W
Diseqc None
TP 12239
LNB 11250
22KHZ Tone - off
M D S - SW 42 Dish 1
Echo 8/10 110W
Diseqc None
TP 12224
LNB 11250
22KHZ Tone - off
M D S - SW42 Dish 2
Also, how many lines do you see coming out of your LNB to your STB? What type of LNB do you have? Please describe it with as much detail as you can because it can help us on these forums identify your issue down to the tee if possible. Anyway, you should only have one cable coming from your LNB to your STB if you have an LNB with an internal switch.
Well, hope this information helps. Good luck and keep us posted.

First post says that he has a DP Twin/Quad....either way the settings would be the same. With that LNB you would not use the MDS setting but the DiSEqC settings.
Cricket, the only other thing I can think of is that maybe you need more power to the LNB...is this a long run? are you using rg-6 cable?
Maybe the other STB had more power for the LNB...the CNX should provide enough but if for some reason there is a lot of voltage drop it could give sympthoms such as you are reporting. You could try a power insertor and see if it cures the problem.

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
the first settings posted in the original post are correct.these will not vary.
the cnx units do not show actual signal/quality readings.they basically show off or on.
the 95/95% = ON.(they are manufactured in china).
the coolsat should be hooked back up and a sat scan performed.if the results are fine.this test has eliminated many things in which case then, you would want to send the unit back in exchange for another.
this does sound like a failing dish pro twin lnb however.

Re: settings for Nano and dish 500?
Okay, I went and hooked my Coolsat 6100 unit to check my signal and noticed that the TP Frequency changes every time I change the frequency number. My highest quality was 91 and low was 57 on certain different frequencies and 60's and 70's in between. I think either my Lnb is going bad or the neighbors tree is maturing and growing higher blocking the signal a bit. My signal isnt weak because cable from my dish to my receiver is only about 20 feet in distance. Tomarrow I will try one more setting and do a channel scan and see if that will work. If not I have a spare dish 500 I can set up in place of the one that is there now and see if that was the issue.
I will keep everyone posted.
Again, thanks for all of everyones help, cricket4462
