What is a dongle I am such a Newb :/
I keep hearing of a Dongle, I have no idea what it is, does or what is required to use it...
I so hear of some IKS thing and wonder the same..
I have a CNX nano is there any way to fire this baby up? I will pay anything I figure I will save money in the long run...
It also seems that some other systems are up or partially up is this true?
What is the NanoII? is it a new box or just the software

Re: What is a dongle I am such a Newb :/
Thanks alot... So I guess I will need internet? I am currently using a neighbors unsecure Wifi... However I will be moving out in the boonies on the 27th of this month. Would that mean the dongle would be out of the question if I cannot recieve internet out in the boonies?

If you can not get a internet connection, any IKS solution will not work...

Re: What is a dongle I am such a Newb :/
What if I build a Wifi dish antenna? Could I use that?
Does the dongle haveto be plugged in the internet at all times when the dish is in use?

I don't have an answer for that...but I can tell you that I also live in the boonies.
And we don't get DSL or cable out here...so I have a wireless card (for laptops) on my desktop unit & it has 16' of USB cable running to a window to get signal.
I ordered a iHub/Dongle for my CNX Nano (still backordered) and it will be here soon.
I will be attempting to see if I can make it work somehow & I will report my findings later.
So if you learn anything new, we can figure it out & report here our results.
