Thumbs down CNX Nano stuck in menu

I bought 3 CNX Nanos and 2 of them are stuck in the menu, with no escape.
I can't find any info about this problem & am just about ready to fix them permanently...with a hammer.
I was told they are working now on iHub...but I can't tell.

Anybody...

Re: CNX Nano stuck in menu

Let me tell you SJ its up but with major freezing. I have the mini with the dongle and the new files that came out yesterday suck. There are reports from other sites that there is major freezing with the new files and lots of angry customers. Man, it sucks that two of your nanos are stuck.

Hey SJ, do you think you might have to use the recovery file with the serial cable and the mvision utilty loader. Man I feel for you bro.

Well I tried the recovery/repair file & also the factory database reset.
I can load files all day long & see them...but all is useless if you can't escape menu.
I used the USB to load everything...not sure if using the serial data cable would help or not?
Yeah man 3 units & an iHub and never saw a peep yet!

After you use the cable and load the recovery file...does the unit work at that point???

Thanks Sgt for your input on this. (I know you work with these units & know them well)
I never used the cable to load files (just USB)...do you think this will make any difference?

If so, I can try it...

It's worth a shot to try the recovery method. I've never heard of one freezing in the menu....So I would definitely try using the recovery file to get it back to factory.

I found the solution at another site.
Here is the answer for others who might get stuck in menu too. >>>

same exact thing with me as well, just set and scan, then youll be able to get out of the menu,Gus

Re: CNX Nano stuck in menu

My bad...I knew that. But when you had one running I made a bad mistake, I assumed that you had done everything the same on the other 2, including setting up the birds.

You were correct to assume that.
It's my fault for forgetting procedure...duhh.
Been a while & it's easy to forget when testing so many different units.
Also I only setup one unit & cloned the others via USB. (nice feature, but don't help you learn the setup path much)

Re: CNX Nano stuck in menu

Hrmmmm...the cloning process should have gotten the birds too. There is a possibility though - you might have only backed up the software. If you look there is an option of backing up the SW and data, that one would have copied the birds too.

Oh yeah, the USB cloning got everything...data, settings & channels...no problem.
I just meant that doing it that way is so easy that it made me less knowledgable about the proper path for setup...and that's why I forgot to scan my birds.
This is the first receiver that wouldn't let me escape menu, prior to scans.
