Boot loader with RS232
* If 100 displays on the front panel, boot loader with RS232 is feasible. 100 may not come on at first time, try a couple of times. If not, need to send your box for repair.*
1. Turn the box off from the back.
2. Connect your box and computer with RS232.
A. Null Modem Cable is Required for ALL CNX Products.
3. Go to your computer.
4. Close all the applications completely or restart the computer.
5. Open loader file.
6. Click Connection and select Connect.
7. Select your port according to your computer and click Ok
A. Check COM# open ok on the bottom.
8. Click Set-top Box and select Firmware Upgrade.
9. Click Select and look for .ldr.
A. If you dont see it, type in * in the file name and press (only) Enter on key board.
10. Double click on .ldr file.
11. Click Upgrade
12. Turn your box back ON. 100 should be display on front panel and should see Debug Print loading ex_send.
A. If you dont see 100 on front pane, turn your box off and on till you see it.
13. Wait 5 minutes.
14. ex_send shouldve been stop.
A. Indication of finish loading: widen the loader window box and should see Branding to loaded code images entry
15. Click Close to close the loader window box.
16. Close Mvision window box.
A. Before you reboot you box, Mvision window box MUST be closed.
17. Turn your box off and on from the back.
18. Now you have TV again. |(^O^)/

Re: Help using RS232 port
If you have XP and are not sure which serial port your PC is using, download and install this little utility:

Re: Help using RS232 port
See if you can load the factory file on the unit, BEFORE you send it anywhere.

Re: Help using RS232 port
Note that you cannot load an upgrade file using the recovery procedure. You cannot even load a factory file. The file must have the .ldr extension to load via the loader.
