just installed 1000.2 have channels, but wierdness ensues
Hi. I'm running a Viewsat 9000HD w/ 8psk
I just took down my dish 500 and put up a 1000.2. After messing with it for a little while, I finally got 110 and 119 to read, but I don't think that it's correct. When I go to antenna setup and go into echostar7 (119) I have to put it on port 3 and 110 on port 1. I can't get port 2 Q to pick up at all. I am getting all the channels I was getting before plus a few extra. When going to 119 and selecting port 1, on the left hand side of the screen it comes up as echostar 10, 11 (which is 110). Why is it doing this?
Also, I don't have 129 under echostar at all. It's Ciel 2 129.0W.
Thanks for reading,
B

Re: just installed 1000.2 have channels, but wierdness ensues
129 echostar 5 is now under a new name ciel 129w.
dont forget to use OCS-DP LNB type.
and i think the right port's are port1 to 119(echo7), port 2 110(echo10,11) and port3 129(ciel).
anyways check if you are using the right LNB type and as soon as you get the sat name on the left side save it because it must be the right port for that sat.
yeah also try to check at dishpoint.com and lock your dish to the right position

Sounds like your dish isn't pointed correct.

Yes you need to move it a little more to get all the sats and make sure the skew is correct.

Re: just installed 1000.2 have channels, but wierdness ensues
From the sounds of things ... it seems that your dish is off by 9deg. If you are behind the dish (so you are looking that white eyes of the LNB's) turn the dish to the left about 3 inches.
Here are the ANT settings you'll want to use:
110
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12224
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 2
motor -off
legacy switch -off
For 119,
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12239
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 1
motor -off
legacy switch -off
For 129,
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12282
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 3
motor -off
legacy switch -off

Re: just installed 1000.2 have channels, but wierdness ensues
using OCS-DP. I'm getting both 119 and 110. Just not sure why I have to use the ports that I am? Didn't have time to mess with it yesterday. Will try repointing, but used dishfinder.com for settings. Of course azimuth could be off, but why am I getting both birds if settings are 3 degrees off?
Thanks to all!
Brad
