Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
Hi all,
Trying a hand at this hobby and having a bit of a difficult time right now...
Hooked up everything, have the dish set up and skew at 42.9 degrees (110/119) and I'm only getting 82% for the signal and 0% for quality. I'm pretty sure I have all the settings right, as specified on this site...
What am I missing? doing wrong?
Thanks,
Darius

You actually have no signal Q reading. Have you checked with dishpointer.com to see if it gives you the same dish settings you have?

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
If you have the DP LNB, set it up like this and then aim...
110
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12224
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 2
motor -off
legacy switch -off
For 119,
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12239
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 1
motor -off
legacy switch -off

Use trans 12224 for 110 and 12239 trans feq to check for signal strength.

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
The reading your getting is the connection between the lnb and the receiver.

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
Just double checked... that's what I have everything set at...
I also set the skew... should I wait and find one of the sat's first?
Should I update the 7100 also, or find the sat first?

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
Well, I played with the dish some more and found 119 now, so I'm happy now that I'm making progress.
I'll try to change the skew now and find 110.
How do I unscramble the channels though? It only found 280 channels - is that about right? From reading on here, that seems low...

For 119 about right. Nothing for the cs receivers right now as far as files go.

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
You will have to wait on Coolsat coders to release a new bin. It may be a a while...

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
dariuspl - For your information the 7100 software is outdated and new software has not been issued as yet and you will not be able to watch any TV.
However, if you have already got 119 to lock and have the confirmation flag for it, then adjust the skew to lock onto 110. After which you will have to wait for a new bin for the Coolsat 7100.

Well, good deals always come at a price... (found the 7100 at a good price on ebay...) Great...so no tv now...
Should I start looking for another receiver now?

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
In my opinion, I would wait till the Transition of N3 before I plunk any money on any receiver.
However, the best of the receivers are Sonicview and NFusion.

Re: Help! Dish 500 and coolsat 7100
the only reciever with the usb feature is the HD model of nfusion.the other 2 models load by serial cable or webloader as does the HD.
