DN and Directv at the same time ?
I know this will sound strange but I want to be able to pull signal for both types of receivers from my 2 6 ft dishes. Is this possible. I have DN at 110 and 119. What equipment would I need to do this. I have subscriptions to both as 1 has the NFL package I want and I don't believe that DN has it.
I just wanted to ask if can be done and if so how to split signals or do I need separate lnbs for each type ?

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
I myself just get a "dish 500" dish and point 110,119 then point the other dish at bev. Then get a 33dp multi switch. Then you could point the other dish at another dish somewhere else. I'm thinking their are other satelites that are all ways fta and "it's true fta". You could get the motor to work one dish and your dish could get all of them, but you change your channel the dish moves you wait alittle while for the channel to come on. that's if the 6 foot dish works like I'm thinking.

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
Flynfish; you'll need separate LNBs plus separate coax for Dave from the two services; Dave's basic setup does allow multiplexing of disparate LNB feeds on the same coax; there are third party multiplexor/diplexor devices ($200+per), but don't know how effective they work

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
So it is possible to get signal from both DN and DTV from 110 and 119 IF I strap additional LNB's to each dish. I.E. 1 for each provider So basically running both systems independantly YET using the 2 dishes instead of 4 BUD's on my roof.
Thanks for the input folks

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
Flynfish; let me clarify a bit further; I had a Dave phase III dish with two coax feeds when I obtained my FTA receiver and was able to pickup some, not all, of Charlie's pgms without repointing my dish; so to your point, you could keep Dave's sub on one coax and get some of Charlie's on the 2nd coax feed to a FTA receiver; I have since procured a DPP LNB and have not tried the opposite (Charlie LNB w/Dave's service); will give it a try sometime just for grins

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
Flynfish; plz clarify your setup one more time; I don't think you have 4 BUDs (big ugly dishes) on your roof, but four-4 LNBs mounted one two DSS antennas, right

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
sorry, i get it now... ignore that other post....
You will have to setup a custom bracket for the new LNb's and aim the LNB instead of the dish. you will have to seperate lnb's, wiring and switches for each provider. they do not broadcast from the same sats, so you will have to shoot for DN 110/119/129 with one dish and DTV 101/?/? (not sure of all DTV sats) with the other dish. This will be the easiest way if you wish to use your 2 buds.

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
Dave sats are 101/110/119 (118.7); you need to include 110 to activate/maintain the session for Dave's sub

Re: DN and Directv at the same time ?
no don't need to aim at 101; not much on that bird for Dave; 110/119 are best
