Nimiq1/Bev91
Hey guys I have 2 quick questions.
1. Is it possible to have 110/119/91 with an 18 Dish? The reason I asked is I scrolled over to Nimiq1 with my SV and it showed 99Q and 98S, does that mean I can scan this sat and grab those channels?
2. What are some of the channel numbers that are up on 91 with a SV360 premier with Ihub?
3. Approx how many channels should I be pulling in after scanning 91?

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
Your getting what is called false signal. If you have a extended or modified bracket, it is possible, but not with the normal 110, 119, 129 bracket. If you scan, you will probably just be scanning 110 or 119 again. Check it out, great way of learning. You can always delete them...

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
On Bev Nimiq 91 you should be able to pull in about 390 channels.
Check channel 212, 210 - they are CTV and CBC Toronto. That is the test to see if you are hitting 91. On the Antenna Settings page you should also get a confirmation of Nimiq 91 locked.
Also check Channel 400 which is TSN (Sports channel).
You may have to add a 1 or a 2 in front of these number depending on how the SV shows Bev channels. ie 1400 or 2400.

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
OK what am I doing wrong here, I have mid 70's signal but 0 quality? Just keep tweaking to the left or right? I'm not using a compass so i'm kinda shooting in the dark. Oh also up and down the ladder to check sig and quality every time, kinda a pain!

You may not use it often but investing into a $19.00 handheld meter will alleviate the stress

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
A small TV and the receiver on the roof will solve your problem.
If you have the elevation done on the dish, then just keep moving the dish to the left or right till you see the quality reading come up and is in green. Then on the side you should see the Satellite that you are hitting. If it is 91, then keep tweeking to max. Lock bolts and then adjust elevation up or down to max. and lock bolts. Q should be at least 70% or greater.

I have elevation set per dishpointer's spec's, what do you mean by tweeking to "max"? Also I can use a compass to get proper azmiuth correct?

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
Do I have to be plumb? I cant get it cmpletely plumb due to the fact of its being mounted on the side of my house facia board and not directly on top of the roof. The pole wont go any further up.

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
If th pole is not plumb, then your elevation would be wrong and your azimuth would be wrong.
So you would have to compensate for the amount the pole is out of plumb on your elevation. Lets say the pole is leaning forward by approx 3 deg. Then you will have to add that 3 deg to the elevation for your area.
With a compass you will only approximate the Azumuth (magnetic). So you will need to move slight amounts to left or right to get a quality reading in green and then maximize the Q by adjusting the elevation slightly in either direction up or down.

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
Hey t, your pole must be straight up and down or you will not get proper readings. Move your dish around and find any sat you can, then you use that as your guide. Youn really need your receiver and a small tv out there with you

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
Hey TB:
Since you are not plumb, here is what to do ... its cumersome, but it will work, trust me.
Take your FTA unit out to the dish. Plug in to AC, connect the LNB off your dish, pipe the STB output to a small TV, turn the volume up and mess with that dish till you nail good sig and quality.

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
I think I found her...lol...under dish settings I chose satellite Nimiq1,3(as it reads on the screen) and I have a S of 98 and Q of 76. Sound ok?
LNB type=ocs-dp
lnb freq=11250
tp=12224
Now I think my next step would be to factory default to wipe out all my 110/119 channels, and scan only Nimiq1 right?

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
OK, but will I be able to still watch 119/110 channels that are already been scanned?
So say espn is 140 on DN, will there be a channel numbered 140 on nimiq, does it override that channel?

I just scanned nimiq1 and it pulled in 396 total channels. Channel 400 on SV is 2400, and it looks like all channels are saying scrambled? Am I missing something here?

Re: Nimiq1/Bev91
Hmmm just went back into my settings and now its showing 99S and 0Q. If I did this properly will it show the channel names for nimiq, because it does show them just show scrambled.
