my understanding is that Dishpro in linear LNB? isn't it?
Dish is not an issue, I have 33"
Also, btw, what TP would be best to tune/find the signal on this SAT?

Re: can I get Galaxy 97.0W with DishPro LNB?
if the dishpro lnb is the fss kind found on the superdish then it will work. it is different than the circular type most commonly used for dn/b3v programming

No, it does not have a linear LNB, and depending where you live you will probably need a 30 to 36 inch dish

Re: can I get Galaxy 97.0W with DishPro LNB?
ok,
I have Dish 1000+ Plus (which is 33-35")
I have Dish 118(circular, I guess) & 119 (linear, I guess) LNBs
I remember 118.7 is FSS, unless I am wrong.

Re: can I get Galaxy 97.0W with DishPro LNB?
118.7W broadcasts low band circular (11.7-12.2GHz) and 119W broadcasts high band circular (12.2-12.7GHz), so there are no significant interactions despite the proximity. Many e-Bay sellers incorrectly advertise 118.7W as linear.
the dish 1000+ will work in good weather...but when it rains you will lose signal fast (at least it does on the superdish i am currently using.

Does anyone of the existing LNBs 119 or 118.7 will catch Galaxy 97.0W?
I remember 118.7 settings in FTA requires selecting Standard LNB, does that make any difference?
if not, what LNB are you using in Superdish to get 97W?
Thanks

Re: can I get Galaxy 97.0W with DishPro LNB?
i am using the dn fss lnb that came with the superdish to receive 123w (it will also work for 97w...they are both linear birds). i know the 119 lnb will not work, dont think the 118.7 lnb will work but not sure (freq range is too high), never tried...cant hurt to try, thats what testing is all about. just be sure to input your settings correctly. heres a link to the settings.

here is some interesting reading on your 118.7 lnb as well (which is why i dont think it will work...

Re: can I get Galaxy 97.0W with DishPro LNB?
No way.. ain't gonna happen with a dss lnb. 118.7 is still a circular freq sat. Check your specs... the difference is the LO frequency of 118.7 of (I think..) is 10750 ... this is why a normal dss frequency lnb will not get it. Check around in the true fta section for some great info by Aboristman and others. You'll need a linear ku band lnb to hit this bird.

Re: can I get Galaxy 97.0W with DishPro LNB?
The LNB used for 118.7 cannot be used to pick up True FTA Sats like 97 or 123.
You need a Linear LNB.
My advise to anyone who wants to pick up True FTA sats is to get a Dish 30 to 39", a motor and a Invacom LNB which can pick up both Linear and Circular Satellites.
Now you can set up the dish to pick up all True FTA Sats and all Circular sats starting with 61.5, 82, 91, 110, 119, 129 etc.
Pick what ever channel you want and the dish will move to tnat sat and give you the picture. I know since I have one installed.
