trying to find belt again
I have been on the belt and watching (until nag3)..I use a Sonicview 360 Premier, 30" Winegard dish and Motor. A few days ago we had a bad storm and it messed up some things. We had to reset pole/level, etc. Now I am having trouble finding the belt again. But, I had several questions.
1. I live in central Florida...which Sat is best to find first?
2. on the bracket that came with my motor, it has "latitude" on one side and "elevation" on the other side. I know I am supposed to set the latitude and leave it...but, I had to compensate a little before, to get on the belt. Dumb me didn't write it down or mark the bracket or pole. Which do you really need to use on the bracket? Elevation or latitude?
3. I did find (well, thought I did) Nimiq at 91.degrees...but the receiver said I was on Galaxy 11 I believe. Something weird going on. If I left the selection on Nimiq, I had good quality...but, if I set it to the Galaxy sat...the quality left.
I did a factory reset on receiver and motor. No luck yet. Any help appreciated.

Re: trying to find belt again
What type LNB are you using? If it's circular, only, then I can understand the signal on 91 and no signal form G11 (requires linear);

Re: trying to find belt again
first make sure your pole is 100% level.....
set the latitude scale on the motor bracket to YOUR LATITUDE.....this should NEVER be changed and there is never a need to change it.....it will be the correct setting unless your bracket is damaged in some way.....
sonicview receivers sometimes identify nimiq 1 91W as a galaxy satellite, this is nothing to worry about.....
do a default on your receiver.....
go into antenna settings for 82W.....enter in all the proper settings and select the motor options.....select USALS and enter in your lat and long.....tell the motor to drive to 82W.....
now go outside to aim your dish/motor at 82W.....when adjusting horizontally you move the entire motor/dish assembly.....when you adjust vertically you move the dish only, not the motor!!
when you have 82W peaked, you should be on the belt.....verify this by trying to find a satellite at each end of the arc.....such as 61.5W for the east and 129W for the west......
what kind of LNB are you using??

Re: trying to find belt again
Uhh! Yea, I know they are down...but I have to get back on the belt to get the true FTA sats. I watched the channels go...but Sonicview had many a lot longer then some receivers did. Didn't lose my last few until Wednesday or Thursday...just before the storm hit. Thanks anyway.

Sorry...I forgot that. I use the Invacon (spelling)...with both circular and linear.

I use the Invacon...but, I had already done all of that....had to do it the first time. I just guess I am missing them by a hair...but, I appreciate the quick response. I guess it doesn't help to try and set it up again while standing out in the blistering heat...about 98 degrees! LOL. But, thanks.
