Bin file for viewsonic sv1000
 Hi there
I have the charlie fix old file 355 before the channels went on to N3 nagra, and i have not touched it for about two months, now my question is, if i download the latest bin file which is still 355, to my receiver, will my satellite receiver catch the channles, like what ever people on this forum are talking about like some channles are still visible please?
i will really appreciate your answer as i am confused and thinking if to spend sometime on my satellite dish system.
thanks guys.

Re: Bin file for viewsonic sv1000
if you left it untouched/unchanged there should be no need reload 355; NASA and Angel up in the clear; verify you're setup is working by viewing them; next as of last night 241-248 were up (distant networks); that's about all for standalone testers other then DN's ads

Re: Bin file for viewsonic sv1000
The nasa channel is from NASA, it has some educational programming and is only mildly interesting, but it is free and working. You will likely need to get a bigger dish and different lnbs and point to true fta sats it you want anything.

Re: Bin file for viewsonic sv1000
true fta sats are like 123w and 97 west which have some channels and wild feeds that never go down
you will need atleast a 30" dish and a linear lnb to get them
you can upgrade to another receiver that uses iks and get channels back

Re: Bin file for viewsonic sv1000
You are wonderful and quick, i thankyou for the information.
couple of more things for you please
1- what is the difference between a linear LNB and the circular LNB, when we talk about the way you are telling me to catch the satellites with linear lnb then why not circular lnb i was using.
2-With my star choice 36'' oval dish with circular lnb, i tried catching the signal for 110w, 129w and 61.5w, i was getting strong signal of 80-85%,but no quality, could it be that the DN is down and i have the last bin file which is not updated on websites, would that mean, that until i have the new bin file (after cracking of NAGRA3), the quality will come or how does it work.
Thanks again for your easy language.
regards.

Re: Bin file for viewsonic sv1000
Linear polarity satellites broadcast their signals with the waveform being sent from the Antenna either in the vertical plane (oriented up-down) or the horizontal plane (oriented left-right). This allows twice the amount of channels to be transmitted by the satellite in the same amount of bandwidth, as the signals from the opposite polarity are attenuated enough so that they don't interfere with each other.
Circular polarity satellites send their signal in a corkscrew pattern, and the polarity is determined by the Direction of rotation of the signal, either right hand or left hand.
should still be able to get quality
may not have had the settings right
