Globe Cast dish pointing to AMC 4 satellite
We have a Globe cast Dish and receiver, to receive international programming. When our favorite station changed satellite, we had to reposition our dish, and re program the receiver. I did all the nescacarry steps, but now, I don't receive. After program search, I get 99 % signal strength, but no quality, 0%. What am I doing wrong.
I am watching the Dutch BVN network.
Thanks, Case

Hello and welcome to ABA;
Sounds like you need to tweak/repoint your dish; zero quality indicates you are not locked onto the bird; get accurate settings for your location from dishpointer.com

Can you please be more specific. What size is the dish and what LNB are you using.
I have mine working for AMC4 and getting Dutch BVN Network.
I am having a 39" Dish with a Motor and an Invacom Quad LNB.
You will need a Linear LNB to get that channel.

Re: Globe Cast dish pointing to AMC 4 satellite
I'm sorry, but I can't reach the roof right now, but I'm using the same LNB as before, before BVN made the switch to the AMC 4 sat.
I'm using the GlobeCast dish and receiver.

What was the satellite before for BVN before?
Also give me your Zip code or where you are located.

Re: Globe Cast dish pointing to AMC 4 satellite
I'm not sure, but I think it was Telstar? ( mostly Arab stations).
I think I have to adjust the LNB, I just found out that that needs to be changed to, and I haven't checked it. Only problem is that I can't get on the roof right now, hopefuly tomorrow.

Re: Globe Cast dish pointing to AMC 4 satellite
Hi, I don't know where youre located, but I'm in Calif. and I don't have to reposition my dish. They stopped sending to South America on May 12 2009. The only way people in S.America can watch is to aim their dish at Satmex 6. I,m watching BVN too and my transponder is12120/30000. Hope this help.

Re: Globe Cast dish pointing to AMC 4 satellite
I have re-postioned the dish, I had it on 101 degrees rotation instead on 33.2, but still no quality signal ( signal strength is now 86%)
The dish is 94 cm wide, and 67 cm tall. I postioned it on 217 degrees azimuth, and 52.5 degrees angle.

Re: Globe Cast dish pointing to AMC 4 satellite
OK. Here are your coordinates.
Elevation: 52.5 deg.
Azimuth Magnetic: 222.5 deg Compass reading.
You will have to skew your LNB to 33.2 deg (looking at the dish clockwise)
Unless you skew the LNB you will not get Quality reading.
May be a little to the left or right and also degree or two up or down on the elevation.
