82 dilemma
I have motorized 31 inch dish. I can get all the sats with good quality except 82. Last time I tried to tweak it in, I lost 123, and a few others. I have to move my dish up slightly to try and get it. I am in the southern US.
Anyone have any tips or tricks for getting this sat without losing some of the others?

Re: 82 dilemma
In the Southern US it will be difficult to pick up 82 unless you are close to the East coast.
I am in Ontario, Canada and have a 39" dish with an Invacom Quad LNB and I can get 129, 123, 119, 110, 101(AMC4), 97, 91, 82 and 61.5. I am quite sure you can get all of these but not 82.
What receiver are you using? The best I have found is the Coolsat for the TRUE FTA satellites as you will need to do a Blind Scan topick up all the transponders for those satellites.
Let me know exactly where you are located and I will check to see if you are in the area for 82.

Re: 82 dilemma
I already checked and I'm not in the foot print for 82, but I can still get it if I move my dish up slightly. I'm thinking I might just get a dedicated dish, bigger than my motorized dish, just for that sat. The only problem with that solution is having a switch in front of the motorized setup, that is a real pain. I tried it before with different types of switches and never could find one that worked. I have an sv8000hd and an invacom lnb with a switch between the motor and lnb.

Re: 82 dilemma
What you can do is from the Dedicated 82W dish connect to the ON side of a 22KHz switch, then the line that is supposed to go from the motor to the receiver can be connected to the OFF side of the 22 KHz switch the the cable from the 22KHz to go to the receiver.
Now in your settings for the motor you will continue to have 22KHz switch OFF but for the 82W only use 22KHz switch ON.
The above will solve your problem. Make sure you get a good ECODA 22 KHz switch.

Re: 82 dilemma
Hey, thanks a lot, I don't think I tried that, but it sounds like it will work.
Soon as it cools down around here, 105 in the shade, I'll give it a try.
