Echostar 4 Issues
I have the 1000.4 up & running but can't get sat 77 to come in. In my settings, whenever I select sat 77, & select auto or port 2 for diseqc then sat 72.7 shows up at the top of the screen. When port 1 is selected then nothing appears at the top of the screen. I've been able to configure & scan sats 61.5 & 72.7 but not sat 77.
I'm not using any switches, coming straight from the dish & My settings are:
Satellite - 77.0W Echostar 4
LNB - DPLNBF
DiSEqc mode - DiSEqC 1.0 (DP21, 34)
DiSEqC Option - Port 1
Legacy SW - Disable
Network Search - No
Search Option - All
TP List - 1. 12253V 20000
(NOTHING APPEARS AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN)
Satellite - 72.7W Echostar 6
LNB - DPLNBF
DiSEqc mode - DiSEqC 1.0 (DP21, 34)
DiSEqC Option - Port 2
Legacy SW - Disable
Network Search - No
Search Option - All
TP List - 1. 12224V 20000
(72.7W ECHOSTAR APPEARS AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN)
Satellite - 61.5W Echostar 3
LNB - DPLNBF
DiSEqc mode - DiSEqC 1.0 (DP21, 34)
DiSEqC Option - Port 3
Legacy SW - Disable
Network Search - No
Search Option - All
TP List - 1. 12253V 20000
There appears to only be 10 TP's on sat 77 & on tps 1,2,4,6,9 my signal strenght is 34% & quality is 0. On tps 3 - s is 59 & q is 74, tps 5,7, 8 & 10 s is 65 & q is 78. Now this is when I have the diseqc set to 1.

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
Maybe it will help maybe not. I just talked to an installer and he told me when you tune the 1000.4 you are supposed to hook up the test jumper to port number 2 on the LNB(from the left). I am getting ready to install mine If I run into any other suggestions after doing mine I will let you know.

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
All is well, I'm up & running fine. I get pretty much the same chns as when one 61.5, 110 & 110. I am missing some though, when I get around to it, I'll let you know exactly what they are if you need me too?

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
Hey lilcap
I have the EXACT same deal happening with my set up!! when I tune to the 77.0W after playing around with it I get 99% on the green signal but the 72.7W comes up at the top Did you solve the problem? If so how? and has the 77.0W actually shown up??
Many thanks in advance.
Bohanna
BTW IF it makes any difference I am in the Boston area.

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
I have tried turning, pointing ,shimming, and twisting the dish for for probably 30+ hours and NO matter what I do I can't find the 77.0 Bird. I get a strong signal with the 77 bird selected on port 1 but I get a 72 showup on the screen. Is there some sort of connection on the LNB I have to make to it show up?? from DAY ONE I have never been able to get the top screen to show 77.

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
Bohanna you are jacking this thread and I was answering lilcap.
However, I don't think either one of you are getting it.
You can't get them sats in the USA. (see list below)
And if you could, it would require the dish being turned & a signal meter used to find the sat & lock on a good signal.
Also go to dishpointer (below) and select "All Satellites" to see them all listed in alphabetical order. >>>
Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com
Most Popular Satellites in
1. 91.0W Galaxy 17 | Nimiq 1, 2
2. 119.0W DirecTV 7S | Echostar 7
3. 110.0W DirecTV 5 | Echostar 10, 11
4. 97.0W Galaxy 19
5. 61.5W Echostar 12, 3
6. 82.0W DirecTV 3 | Nimiq 4
7. 7.0W Nilesat 101, 102
8. 121.0W Galaxy 23
9. 123.0W Galaxy 12, 18
10. 107.3W Anik F1, F1R

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
Sorry ,, didn't mean to step on anybody else. but still trying to find out why neither of us got the 77 bird to show and what your jumper-tuning post ment?? I have been to dishpointer and scrolled down to the 1000.4 three LNB set up and the 77.0 Bird shows DOES up and where to point the dish. That is why I think I should be able to hit it from the east coast . Still trying to find out weather it's equiptment failure or Pilot error.
Either way still no clear answers.
Many Thanks anyway
Bohanna

"77" never showed up at the top of the screen but that's no big deal I know it's theres....trust me....I know it's there because I'm using it on a Vip 722 receiver & have many chns on it. So since I know it's there, I went ahead & scan it anyway on my nfusion & go about 48 chns & 43 radio chns to come in. Less than half of those chns are up though but it's there.

Really?? I get the same thing when do a scan on it. (77.0W )48 video and 43 radio even though it's not there and I get NO green signal when 77 is selected on port 1 now that I have re postioned the dish for the 61.5 and 72.7 birds. I was getting a FULL signal on 77 when i was trial pointing around but 72.7 was Still showing up on top. What's up with that?? I thought it was maybe a bad LNB or it had something to do with the aftermarket soldered resistors on my 8Psb board
BTW Here is a list of channels on 77.0W echostar4 I get and their status up or down. are you getting the same??
Thanks

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
That looks about right. There's not really much support on nfusion part for that bird since in newer & less people on on it. The focus right now is many on the most common birds. I wouldn't worry much over it since there's really not much there that you are missing as far as chns are concern.

Great to know that now since I have been up and down from the top of my 3 story roof more than a yo yo at a tournoment. If you saw the elaborate set up I have had to use to try and tweak this little sucker it's actually sad. What I thought was going to be a few hours has gone way over the 30-40 hour mark. So far except for the LOUD fan and the fact that if I turn the ND off it heats up all buy itself I have been pretty happy with it. I am thinking of doing the double fan mod to quiet it down. have you done it to yours?? Also,, Can you think of any better birds to try and point it to get more channels?? I am curious ?? Does your 8Psk also have the after marked resistors on them like mine?
Many Thanks
Bohanna
BTW feel free to email xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx if you have any more ideas it seems like we are dealing with the issues.

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
No Problem I didn't know it wasn't allowed. The three channels you listed don't show up in my scan. It Looks like this 77 bird is a bit weird.
Thanks

Re: Echostar 4 Issues
not a problem my friend and if you scan 72.7 you will get 2 channels tvland and another one there is also another HD channel and yes you will not pick it up without a HD reciever .. but tv land has all the old good ones rosanne bonaza etc.. same as the ones on dn
and if you have a motor and can move there is amc 21 3 HD channels create channle and another sd pbs sattion and then there is amc 9 83w retro east and west lots of old channels .. then there is some others with history and bio channels
i suggest a 36 inch dish or larger and a inear just wanted to let ya know what is out there and a motor is great to have .
good luck
