Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Ok, I have 2 dishes setup up right now with a dish 500 pointed at 110/119. Along with a single lmb pointed to 129. I have one wire coming out of the the Dish Pro Plus LMB and going into the 129 and the one coming out of the 129 that goes to the STB.
Well now I have another Dish Pro Plus that I am going to hit 82 and 91 with, I don't know how to wire all of this together, I have a 8x1 Disque Switch, But considering that the Dish Pro Plus LMB's have switches in them already, how is this going to work?? Or would I be better off with some other idea??
Thanks in advance

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Help me understand what you have done.
Dish 500 Pointed at 110, 119 and you say it is a Dish Pro Plus.
Another Dish pointed at 129. What is the LNB? Is it a Dish Pro Single LNB?
You are now going to Point a DP Plus to 91 and 82.
Am I right on the above assumption?
Attached is a Zip file with all the different LNBs. Please identify wghat LNBs that you have used.

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Check the LNB pictures and identify what you have for your systems.

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
OK. The Dish Pro single LNB is the one you have for 129. Connect the cable from that to the input on the Dish Pro Plus which is picking up 119 and 110.
Now in your Antenna Settings you will have DiSEqC switch for 119 as Port1, 110 as Port2 and 129 as Port3.
If you set up the other DP Plus with 91 and 82 you will have then as Port1 and Port2. Now to connect both systems to your receiver, you will get yourself a 22KHz Ecoda switch. Connect one cable from the DPPlus with 119, 110 and 129 to the Zero side of the switch and one cable from the 91 and 82 DPplus to the 22 Side of the switch and in Antenna settings you will have 22KHz switch OFF for 119, 110 and 129 and ON for 91 and 82.
Good luck.

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Ok, Well I have got everything connected now. The only problem is that It has taken my signal down to around 20 on everything. Nothing works. What are the odds that I am using a bad cable somewhere??? Would that kill it?

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Check for shorts on the cable. One thing to check is also the disecq switch. Remove the disecq switch and the 22Khz switch and check each cable one by one by connecting directly between the lnb and the receiver. Then introduce the disecq and see if that changes things. Then the 22Khz to see what is dropping your signal that drastically.

I will, It is just so much fun climbing on the roof over and over again. I love it. Since I am using the ecoda switch now, should I buy a booster???

Yea I am not using a Disecq switch. This dish 500's do this for me. I am just trying to figure out where I should have the ecoda switch at? It makes since to have it up by the dishes so I don't have to run 2 lines to the stb.
So where should I put it?

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
wow
sorry i am not trying to be an *** but read into dishes alittle more you have about 300.00 bucks in dishs really i would take down the farm and sell then and get a motorized set up this way you can watch all the sats .. my thinking is this with this set up you will have ..
110,119,129,91,82
with a motorized set up you can sell all the others and maybe put 50 bucks in your pocket and get the same but the difference is this if a cardless solution comes out later you are golden even if not you have several free to air sats
right now with iks
110,119,129,91,82 amc 21 amc 4, 97w,83 w,72.7w (a few channels )77 w ( a few channels )
now if then get a cardless fix in the next 3 months you have thenm all wide open
110,119,129,91,82,72.7,77, 61.5,148, etc and then all the free to air your reciever will have about 3-3500 open channels then whoo hoo
just an idea bud

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
No your not being a a** tomcat. And I don't take it that way. Luckily I have a good friend who is a installer. So I throw a 20 here and there and I can always get what I need. Yes it does look like a farm with now 3 dishes up there. I just dumped my fun money on a new NFusion HD for a little while.
So if you had to pick tomcat, which sat and Lmb setup would you go with???

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Take one cable from say Output 1 of 119, 110 and 129 to the zero side of the Ecoda switch (Short cable), then another short cable from the Out put 1 of 91 & 81 to the 22 side of the Ecoda switch.
Then like I have mentioned earlier 119 Port1 22KHz OFF, 110 Port2 22KHz OFF, 129 Port 3 22 KHz OFF, 91 Port1 22KHz ON, 82 Port2 22KHz ON. These are what you have to put into Antenna settings.

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Yes I have done that, when I do that, my signal goes from 70 to 20, and then no quality. The question is, where do I need to have the ecoda switch?? Close to the reciever or can I have it up by the sats?? Because I really am not going to run another cable to the stb. Also, will booster help anything??

Re: Dish setup help 5 lmb's
Ok, tomcat, I posted this in another post, and I am not getting any help.
So I have all the satalites lined up and great. Tons of quality, signal on everything. When I hook up the ecoda, everything goes to crap.
What are the limitations of these ecodas? Do they have to be grounded? What am I doing wrong??? take a look at my other post. Does it have anything to do with a Legacy switch?? Or is as simple as turning on the 22hz. It just seems like the signal is not getting throught the ecoda switch. I am very confused.
Is thier any other way that I can go about this. I have a 8x1 diseqc switch sitting here looking me in the face. But since I am running the Dish Pro LMB's I can't do it can I???
If you know any links that might help me, that would be greatly appriciated.
