Motor for my 500? Or a new 33" dish with 5 lnb's?
Should I get a motor and invacom QPH-031 for my existing dish 500? Or should I buy a bigger dish with a lot of LNB's on it? This is for my sonicview elite 360 and ihub. Thanks for your suggestions. I want to try and get more than just 110 and 119. I am hoping I can squeeze some football out of this thing this season! : )

how about a new 33" with the invacom and a motor, dish 500 is to small to get all you can out of a motorized system...it would be very difficult, if not impossible to grab any linear birds off a 500

With a Dish 500, a motor and an Invacom LNByou CAN get all the circular satellites but not the TRUE FTA Satellites.
You will be able to tune into 129, 119, 110, 91, 82, 72.7 and 61.5 Satellites.

Thanks! I assume I want the linear birds? Is there a simple way to explain what they are and why I would want them? haha. Sorry, I am still not grasping a lot of the technical stuff. Thank you for any help you can provide. : )

Re: Motor for my 500? Or a new 33" dish with 5 lnb's?
Thanks guys. I guess I will order the big dish, motor, and invacom. Is a motor better? I didn't know how reliable they are. And is that invacom QPH-031 LNB worth paying the extra money for? Or is a universal just as good for what level I am at? Sorry for the lame questions. I promise I will learn more and pass it along to others in the future. : )

Re: Motor for my 500? Or a new 33" dish with 5 lnb's?
Yes the Invacom LNB is the best for the Linear Birds as well as the Circular Birds.
Circular birds are 129, 119, 110, 91, 82, 72.7, 77, and 61.5.
Linear Birds are 97, 104, 123, 121 etc. Check with Lygsat for more details.

Re: Motor for my 500? Or a new 33" dish with 5 lnb's?
with the invacom you get 4 sat transmissions. if you hold your two hand up with the thumb up.
think of one as your right hand twisting the way your fingers go and point it up during the twisting.
that would be like right circular. now do the same with your left hand twisting in the
opposite direction with your fingers, that would be circular left.
then there is horizontal like ( - ),
then vertical as in ( l ).
that would be the 4 connections on the unit.

Knee Dragger - Where on earth did you get that information.
FYI - The iInvacom had 4 connections. Two are circular and Two are Linear.
Please get your information correct.

Re: Motor for my 500? Or a new 33" dish with 5 lnb's?
I have been looking for the exact info on it. two linear, what are they?
the maker's web site does not distinguish if both contain hz and vert.
or if it is one vertical and one horizontal. where does it say that in the documentation?
as for circular is one circular polarized right and left? or is it one polarized
and it uses voltage to distinguish circular horizontal left or vertical left?
and one circular polarized horizontal right and vertical right?

Re: Motor for my 500? Or a new 33" dish with 5 lnb's?
i will explain it the invacom has 2 l and 2 cir or (c) all it is is a way to hook up 2 recievers there is one for cirular and one for linear now as for turning that is called skew when it come to circular skew means nothing you can turn a circular lnb upside down and it does not make a difference
as for linear the skew has to be right on or you will get nothing this is why the invacom say qph 031 is the best i think for a motorized set up you can hook it up and hit all the sats listed and some more ..
the only one you will not be able to hit will be 118.7 anika f3 the reason is it is a strange freq ir needs a circular low lnb but al the other sats it will work great .. hope this helps

Thanks tomcat01 for clearing up that information.
Sometimes when people come here and give out wrong information it confuses other users and creates havoc.
Thanks again.

This is a good setup, Geosat 36inch dish, comes with linear lnbf, but if you
have invacom quad, and sg2100 motor. i like the goesat dish, better than
the 30inch Winegard.
