Re: Setting up sats and scanning channels for viewsat

Hi,
Is there a video tutorial to show you how to set up the VS Ultra with a moveable dish?
TIA
Bert

Hello and welcome. You posted in a section that is for reference only, so no one was able to see your question. It is the dish and lnb that matter on setup, it works pretty much the same on all receivers.

Re: Setting up sats and scanning channels for viewsat

Hi boboisno1,
Thank you for moving my message. I'm very much a newbie so I hope this message goes to the right place.
I bought a motorized dish and stand and set it up plumb and level but couldn't understand the instructions that came with the VS Ultra about how to set up USALS. I hired a fellow who did a partial set up (aimed the dish at the southern-most satellite and then one other) but I couldn't figure out how to add satellites. Then I did something that caused the receiver to not get anything - I don't know what - and called the installation guy who told me to do a factory default. I was really lost then and I can't get the guy to return my calls.
If I could find a tutorial for how to do lock the motor into the south-most satellite and then how to lock on to the other satellites I was able to do a blind scan originally so I think I can do that again.

I'm sorry to be so verbose.

Bert

Re: Setting up sats and scanning channels for viewsat

Hi,
Thanks, yes I know. I'm only interested in the FTA channels that are available now, not in anything that requires fixes. What mistifies me is how difficult to understand the instructions in the manual are - or maybe it's just that I'm so much a newbie that I need a tutorial on getting past this level of newbiness.
Cheers,
Bert
