Cant seem to get both satellites at the same time - ABA DSS

Hi everyone. I have a dish 500 with a quad lnf?? There is 2 lenes and 2 ports on each one. I am having trouble being able to get both satellites at the same time. If I get 119 and get it locked in when I change the satellite in the menu then 110 isnt locked in anymore. I thought they were fairly close to each other but I cant seem to be able to get them. Another question I have is with the quad do I need a switch of some kind? When I read the manual it doesnt really clarify it for me. Dont they just have a single coax cable in one of the ports going to the receiver?? Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

No switch needed...in your menu settings set 119 to dseqc port 1 and set 110 to port 2

a dp quad can run 4 boxes at the same time no switches needed.
post your settings and double check your aiming coordinates with dishpointer.com

Thank you. I am sorry but where can I find the settings? Do you mean on the satellite itself or can i get them from the menu on the tv? I am very new to all of this. Thanks again.

Let us know what kind of reciever you have, and as Bigevil69 ask does your quad lnb have a DP logo on it?

It says I have a 301 receiver and I do have a dp logo on it. Sorry had to go and check it out. Thank you again.

So is this your subsciption unit?

Have you tried testing each port on the lnb to see if you can get both sats on any one of the ports. You should be able to get both sats on any of the ports unless one or more of the internal switches are burnt out. You may need aa other lnb.

When ever you disconnect a cable the receiver make sure you turn it off and or unplug it.

Yes I beleive that it is the subscriber unit. We have tried all of the different ports but for some reason we still cant be able to get them at the same time. I am wondering if we just are not tweeking it enough or moving it to fast. I may have to suck it up and pay for a service call even though I was trying to avoid that. Thank you for your time and patience with me lol.

i have a 301 receiver box...it's not a subscription box that requires a contract...its one of those prepaid receivers.
on your setup screen try changing transponder numbers when you switch over to the 110 lnb. i had to do this while setting up a 322 receiver last weekend.

I am now thinking its a receiver box because i have one of those prepaid ones also even though I didnt have to use the card thing. What would I need to put the transponder on when I am turning it over to 110? When I talked to my father in law yesterday he said that if I get one of the satellites then I should be able to lock them both in. Is that true?

not sure xact transponder to try...i just flipped up 1 at a time...i think i only had to flip up 1 maybe 2 transponders till i got s&q in the green and said locked on 110

and if your dish is aimed correctly you will be able to lock in both sats.
is this a new install or an existing install that was working previously?

Okay so if its in the right direction I should be able to get them both. Should I have 2 green bars on the bottom? I have to change the satellite from the main menu to change from 110 to 119. Is that right? My zip is 74338. Thank you guys so much.
