Re: Combining a signal
sure it is. that's what switches do. so in a dp500 system, you have two signals (110 and 119) coming in, then they go to a switch, then a single line goes to your receiver. the antenna settings show which signal comes from which port.

Re: Combining a signal
all you need is a diseqc switch. likely you got one as part of the stuff they provide with the new receiver. its clearly marked input and output, run the LNbs in the IN ports, and the receiver on OUT.

Re: Combining a signal
if you pick a 4x1 switch you will be able to combine 4 lnbs. Tell us what sats your trying to pick up and we will give you some options.

The Desq switch people are talking about looks like this:
They are typically $10.00 or less.

Re: Combining a signal
Depends what type of LNBs you are using as well.
I use an Ecoda 22KHz switch to combine my Invacom LNB that's on my motorized dish and my DP 500
The Invacom uses a Chieta 4x1 to combine Linear and Circular, then down the line connects to the DP 500 output...
The Ecoda 22K is very dependable and fast.
If you go with a 4x1, spend a few extra dollars and get a Chieta or better as the cheap switches tend to fail or cause "phantom" problems that are difficult to troubleshoot.
Spending $10.00 for a decent 4x1 will save a lot of time and trouble.

Re: Combining a signal
Thanks guys, Sorry i forgot to point out that i already have a 4in 1out chieta switch, basically what i ment is to use a switch on top. so instead of haveing 4ins into the chieta i would have 5
110 to input 1
119 to input 2
97 to input 3
*91 connect to combiner to input 4
*82 connect to combiner to input 4

The proper way to do it and avoid problems, would be the use of an Ecoda 22khz switch and wiring like this:

Re: Combining a signal
For the above drawing, the box switch related settings should be like this:
With LNB 1/2/3/4/ connected to 4x1 switch IN ports1/2/3/4 respectively:
diseqc: port 1/2/3/4 respectively
22khz: Off
Then for LNB 5:
diseqc: Off
22khz: On

Re: Combining a signal
If you are going for only 4 LNBs as I see from your other post, then no need of the Ecoda switch and settings for LNB 5 above.
It doesn't matter which LNB goes to which diseqc port number, but you should mark and note what satellite is hooked to what IN port number, for setting the box with the right diseqc port for each sattelite.
