CW 4000 still not switching sats right!
I have the latest software that was just released from Captiveworks and I am using a diseq 4x1 switch but I still have issues going from one satellite to another and the video not coming in initially. I have to hit the enter button a few times or go to another channel on that bird then come back to it. Sometimes I have to exit and go back in to satellite. I checked the ohm and that was fine. This effects my recordings when I am not at home and I need to switch to another bird. Should I try a DP44 switch with a dedicated power source?

When you stay on one bird during a key change the other you change to after will roll the keys, this may take a minute or two. I have a cw4000 and have the standard cheata switch and have no problem. If this is not what is happening get back with us and we can figure it out.

Re: CW 4000 still not switching sats right!
I am using the same chieta switch which is 4x1 and I let it sit there and the video doesn't come in. So I have to wait for a key change/roll? If I am recording one program after another, then I can't be waiting.

Should I check the grounding? Or check the voltage? I already checked the cable and I am getting about 75ohms on the length, which is about 50-75 feet.

For starters, your grounding needs to be as cw specifies for the skywalker or it can go bad, there has been a lot of issues on that. Next, what exactly is your cw4000 doing, is it not changing sat or taking to long to switch. and what is the str and q on your different sats.

I have to go for now, will be back later. If you want to check the voltage, the out put is between 13 and 18, just make sure you don't hot plug this can burn your switch and knock out your skywalker.

Re: CW 4000 still not switching sats right!
Hot plugging is disconnecting or connecting your cable with your stb powered on. And if you have a different box to put in its place, you can see if it is your switch or something in your set up doing it or if it is the cw4000.

Your other post says you have a motor, are you using it on this set up.

I used to have one, but do not at this time, but the video issue has been there with and without the motor
