Some help
I just got the CW-4000HD. I already have the dish500. I do not know if I can make it work. Does the dish 500 can work for HD?
How can this setup? can someone help me step by step?

Re: Some help
Yes it can, the 500 was meant to get 2 sats that are 9 degrees apart so if you point it at the hd sat you will only be able to get that sat.

Re: Some help
try this:
how to effectively set up and align your dish
1. make sure the pole is plumb and mount the dish onto it.
2. turn your receiver off with the switch on back.
3. if you need a diseqc switch run the cable ( rg6 if possible ) to the proper outlet on it.
4. run one short length of cable from each dish you plan to use to the proper port on the
switch(be sure you have the ports set right in your antenna setup).
5. once your connections are tight turn on the receiver again.
6. select the sat you want to get and go to antenna settings.
7. making sure the sat you want to get is in the top right corner start moving the dish
slowly in the general direction of the signal until you see the quality bar move.
8. if all your lnb's are on one dish you should be tuning the middle one first. to get the others
select the next sat in antenna settings and skew the dish until that one comes in.
9. repeat step 8 until you have signal on all sats.
10. to watch one dish at a time select it in the menu, to watch all the channels select all sats.

Re: Some help
I suggest that you take a few minutes and look through the manual on the cd that came with it. There is a whole lot of things that have to be taken into account, like your type of tv settings and audio. there is a quick start up in the guide but then the guide does not suggest doing so. If you run into problems just let us know.

William - i too just got mine. I read up on it for several weeks and the setup was pretty easy.
I too had Dish already on my roof left over from subscribing to Dish last year. I followed the cable from both dishes, plugged both LNB's into the DisecQc switch into it, plugged the line that ran into the house into the 'receiver' connector and that was pretty much it. It did take some trial and error to find which LNB was 1 and which was 2, but that wasn't to hard. Hit scan and your off to the races.
hope it helps some......good luck.
one more thing....look at all teh links in tnp12's signature....they help!

I am still having some dificulties to get this thing work. I have genpixDVB-S tuner. I don't have any signal yet. I have already install the dish500 on the roof pointed to get good signal on ultima receiver. I switch to HD receiver and it doesn't get any signal even if I move the dish on general direction. Re: Some help
Do you have a good Q reading, which is actually the signal strength?

Re: Some help
Make sure you have the rite lnb type set in you sat setting, plus your grounding has to be correct or it will affect the tuner.

Re: Some help
CW4000 is different from other stb. Go to Admin. menu, then "configuration" then "tuner set up" and make sure it is enabled. After that go to "antenna", then "satellite" and make sure that on lnb port 1 and 2 select DP circular because you have a Dish 500 lnb's. Also verify in the manual about the switch type you have and make sure to select the correct one on your settings. Good luck!

Re: Some help
The Genpix skywalker 3 has been known to not work right if not properly grounded or some times go completely out. the method that CW request is to ground the lnb, switch, dish, and then run the ground directly to the main service ground, you can ground at the panel that has the first means of disconnect where the ground bonds to the neutral. Also when you make changes in your settings you need to reboot your system, and by all means do not hot plug.
