Captiveworks cw-4000 wont scan--help!!! - ABA DSS

Ok, here we go. I got this receiver a couple of months ago. Loaded it. Worked fine. New bin came out. Loaded. Never worked again. I have great signal and quality, but when I try to scan, it scans for a sec or two then shows "finished processing", but never goes beyond the 1st transpnder. Picks up zero channels. Tried new bins from other sites, both 3000 and 4000. No help. Its like the box is locked up? Im clueless and have a 460.00 paperweight. PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!! Oh yeah, and there is no power switch on the back. Ive heard that suggestion a million times. The 4000 doesnt have it. I actually just got it back from cw cause the sat card stopped picking up the birds and the remote quit working. They fixed it, said it works and sent it back. Now im back to the scans for a sec, but just shows "finished processing" with nada channels.

welcome to abadss and sorry to here that,I've never tested one of them before,but I got a quetion.did you try loading factory file?,and then the last bin,(do a factory reset first). also never load another stb bin into your stb everyone of them has a diferent even the same brand,so 3000 into the 4000 that's a not not; if that don't work maybe some one that knows that stb will help you,good luck.

I have tried a factory reload. I got the box in dec. Loaded it, worked. 12-19 update, no more works. Ended up sending it to cw cause the sat card quit picking up the signal and the remote quit too. They fixed it, said it works now, I got it back. Made sure the ant is grounded, hooked it up and blam, nothing. Just scans for a sec then shows "finished processing" but doesnt go beyond the first transpnder. Of course i put in the 2-12. Like its locked or someting. Was there some sort of update or somethning that I need and havent loaded to unlock it? Im totally new to this. I get the bin, go to update, install, usb , pick the file, it unpacks correctly, says to restart, I do, but doesnt scan for more than a sec.

first of all you have to give a little more information what bird are you trying to scan that is what is your settings by the way never ship your box back with 3party softwere void the warrnty.

Trying to scan 119 and reloaded factory stuff prior to shipping. Its like it isnt "rolling keys" maybe or even though the new bin is in, it needs something more to unlock it. It worked when new, but never after a new bin. If thats what rolling keys means. By the way, i see people talking about nag3?. I dont know what that is and also, this unit is not connected or used online. No access where its located. Update---I cant scan any echo or dv birds. On nimqu4, i scanned and got all the channels and program guide, but i cant see any tv and it displays "key check-waiting for valid key" Any ideas

ok, i snooped around and under something in the menu i found that the dvb has no keys? and sees no prior ones?. If i go to admin, third party, keys, it wont open it. clicking on it does nothing, it just stays on the page that says keys. how do i install keys?

what I have to do is, go to downloads and install. there will be a note after that tells you to deal with a third party , but you should not have to.

oh, I forgot to mention it is under external download,you should have the same process in loading anything from the usb

Yeah, thats were i load bins, and they unpack and go in like they should. If you go to system, it shows what i loaded, but still same prob with scan/seeing. Key check-waiting for valid keys. Im pretty sure that it need them changed, but i cant access them. Seen in other forums that its automatic. Even found what the current keys should be, but the box wont let me in to the place that supposivlely you change/check them. Can you download keys and install them like a bin?

i had similar problems.... changed the lnb type.... admin configuration antennae (you'll find it) and set the lnb to other types... scanned and found one that picked up most of the channels... don't know why this is, but that worked for me.
