usb to serial adapter problems
ok first keep all un hooked up ok this will differ if you are using vista.. but here we go first if you have installed the driver then take it out ...you can go to my computer then right click on it and then go down to properties then to hardware then device manager(vista just right click then properties top left device manager ) then once you are there click on the + sign and expand then you will see comport 1 (if it says usb to serial right click on it uninstall and once done restart and it will find it again ) ok once that is done lets start
there is a couple of way to do this this is the first one ..
ok put your disk in and open up my computer and then in the cd-rom (or what ever)click explore then find the exe file to run it right click on it and make it compatible for what you are using by putting a check mark ing th box and hitting apply then close and run your program to istall the drivers you could get a msn not sertified would you like to install hit yes once it is installed good ..
the second way go back to device manager the ports + to expand then right click on com port 1 and the left on update driver it will bring up a box in vista it will ask you where to go (in xp it will say cd-rom put a check mark it will install and then done ..
now place your usb adapter in the usb and it will detect it and say installing driver once that is done then go back to device manager and ports and you will see usb to serial adapter or what ever kind it is write down the port it is using ..
next hook up the sreial or null cable to the adapter with out taking it out ( or have it together before. then hook up the reciever and open what ever loader you have and then change the port in the loader program you have to match and you are now ready to flash the reciever..
sorry it took so long i wanted to make sure that it was slow and the little things are included..
now some times this happens if the loader only goes to say com4 and the usb is on com say 12 so they won't match up then you can do this go back to the device manager open the ports highlight the usb to serail adapter and right click on it and go down to properties left click and you will get up a comport properties box click on port settings and then go down to advance then you can manually match up the port to what you want and boom you are done .. hopefully this help have a
