Hey everyone, I just wanted to give you an update on where we are at with the second season of the abadss.com Poker Tour. We've got a few things we want to work on to make this the BEST poker tournament out there!

Before we make to many decisions we wanted to get some feedback from you guys about what you liked and didn't like about last seasons tournaments.

We know some of the prizes got mixed up but we are working on that and we will correct that. We are looking mostly at people who missed the tournaments... Here are a couple of questions we should ask..

did you like the start time of the tournament?
was the tournament challenging enough for you?
did you enjoy 2bet?

did you enjoy 2bet?I really liked 2bet, liked the setup, display etc...

Xaldin I think it would attract more players(which I think we need) if we all new upfront what the prizes were at the beginning of the tournament season. A little more organization which you have already mentioned somewhat, keeping people in touch on exactly what was going on, I was kinda lost, and so were a few others, in regards to who qualified, and who didnt qualify and what exactly you had to do to qualify, but all in all, with it being the first one ever done here at ABAdss it was ALOT of fun for me, I really looked forward to playing every thursday!

was the tournament challenging enough for you? yes.jeez i don't think i actually got first place once.i think second place once lol.but almost always managed to hit top 10.

did you enjoy 2bet? nice site.no server issues.seems great to me.

Yup to all the questions.

A weekly update would be nice to see who is where.

Any chance in avoiding giving points to those that don't actually play, but who finish in the money??

One of the differences with 2Bet and other Poker sites, is many others force you to open a paying account even if you're only playing in the "No Money Down" Tournaments, 2Bet doesn't.

The time of the tounament was ok here (10 pm) for the amount of players. I could see it getting a little late if we had a huge turn out of people. Like tb said great challenge.Lot of competition. The site was great for me. Never had any hang ups. I like zeke's idea of weekly updates.

Between Hidef Tuesdays and ABBA Thursdays we have alot of ABBA family getting together and having some fun playing poker. I wonder if it's possible to have a forum dedicated to our poker nights. so we can post our congrats, our cries and our results. That might also get some more people to look into the game.

I say "yes" to all three questions.

Some suggestions and comments made by different members during the last tournament; this is NOT meant as criticism. It was all new and you did a great job with what you had to work with and we thank you for that!

If the person doesn't show up within the first 15-20 minutes, their name should be removed...or they should not be allowed to play that night. Another thing is if you go inactive for over 15 minutes you should be eliminated from play that night.

The final tournament had people in it that couldn't win, so they had nothing to lose. I really think that changed the final outcome of the game. They should have been asked to leave the table immediately. Some had never played once and yet they were at the invitation only game. I think you need to play in a certain percentage of the weekly games in order to qualify for the final tournament. I thought last year we were supposed to play every week...but not sure about that. I know I missed one night because of my computer. I kept losing the connection....but I did play one or two hands before it all went down...lol

If you need help listing the prizes or keeping track of the winners each week or whatever, let some of us know, we'll be glad to help all we can.

Thank you very much for doing this for us, it has been great fun. I've learned alot!! lol

the only problem i see with the tourneys is getting prizes period.
still waiting for prizes from 4 months ago, never received any prizes for any tourney
I was awarded. i know i should received at least 2 prizes. came in 2nd a few times.
recently the final for season 1. still waiting for my 100 bucks.

start time should be 11pm. most nite time tourneys on poker sites start at this time.
i work steady afternoons and if that rule was implemented above i would never be allowed to play as i do not get home a little after 10pm start time. i look forward to playing everyweek with the gang.

Update Feb 16th, 2009: received my prizes!!!! there was a delay but it was rectified thanks Xaldin!!

one of the biggest problems i saw was people staying inactive until they made the final table and then start playing
i can understand being a little late even upto 45 mins late but to sit and watch and stay inactive just to make final table they should not be allowed to finish in the points

i talked about this before. if people are inactive for a long period of time , the blinds take their money away . they usually dont stay long as the blinds go up in any poker site.the reason some stay till the final table is there is not enough people playing. tourney dont last that long. i play tourneys that last 5 or 7 hours long and if you dont play or away youl be out fast. take poker stars you join a tourney you have 1800 people . if you do not play at all you may end up in 800th by not playing . it accomplishes nothing. our tourneys maybe 40 people max. if a person is in front of the computer and simply not playing or forgot about the tourney will not win anything.

Time is to late. People have to get up in the morning for work. 8:00 would be a good time just my opinion games not bad though enjoyed when i played. Hoped info was helpful thanks

That's only true for those tourney only Coors. In the big ones the blinds go up pretty fast and high. Inactives never make it in the money.
But in the Abadss tourneys, when there are less than 60 people, usually less than 40, there are always people in the top ten that didn't play a hand.
Bottom line, a site that has 300K+ Members, that can't get more than 40, when thay should have hundreds is pretty poor marketing.
Is there a way to communicate via mass e-mail to members, there must be, and in that e-mail NAME THE PRIZES, and they have to be prizes people want, IE
1st Prize- Satellite Kit(Receiver, LNB"S, Dish included)
2nd Prize- NFusion HD Receiver
3rd Prize- PVR Receiver
NOW, that would get my attention!!!!!

And maybe a weekly giveaway to the winner.
1yr VIP Membership, if the winner is a Vet or Expert or god forbid a Mod, LOL, he can put the prize in a #count thread similar to the ones running now and give it away to a member that needs it. Quite easy.

Personally I'll play prizes or not, but I don't speak for the other 300K members.

I know what you mean coors. I've played in the big ones on poker stars and full tilt. where there is thousands playing. I was in one from 11:00pm to 5:30 am. ( I won around 25 cents). but the point is in these games you lay back and not play so the (all in people) get weeded out. Our tourny is to small for that. I dont know is the site can eliminate a player for not showing up. I know myself i've been 1/2 hour late. that doesnt mean im sitting back waiting.

This is what we want to do! We're trying to find sponsors for our tournament so we are able to deliver prizes like this.
