ok.so your learning some basics.now what cards should you start off with?
did you know every hand already has odds of winning and loosing before any community cards(the center cards placed by the dealer) are even dealt?
that's right lol.so before playing the "rags"-poorly ranked starting hands.think it over before calling that bet.especially if your not in the blind-nothing to lose by folding.
this will help.you don't need to be a math expert.so don't worry.but at least look this over a little bit:
Texas hold 'em starting hands - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
basically.pocket aces are the BEST.this means "most" of the time, your going to win with them.but watch that board! knowing when to throw away pocket aces although its hard to do,can mean winning or losing a tourney!
and 7/2 off suite is the worst possible hand to start with.this means "most" of the time your going to lose if you play this hand.
now consider everything tho!
for example if you can get in "cheap".for example,at the start of a tourney the blinds start off very small.don't be afraid to start with some rags if no one raises!
as the tourney progresses, those blinds go up! start to pick some premium hands.you don't want to keep calling off your chips "gambling" to see flops!
edit,
oh yes,and of course these odds someones else has premiums hands over yours also goes down when there are not the full 10 people at your table see?
so as you make your way working down the line.the starting hands you may select may start to get much loser if your table only has 3-4 players.see these odds change? so its more likely with 10 players someone is dealt a/a or other really nice premiums then when you only have a few players see?
so when your down to heads up-one on one.the cards almost don't matter.you simply trying to outplay your opponent by making him "think" your holding goods cards.
p.s im writing all this stuff-arbor.
so don't think im posting "professional" info here hahaha.
just some "tips" you should consider.this will help you get a good start.
hey i found me a new avy for Thursdays.
