How good idea ihub for bin or channels?
Hi,
I have some of questions about ihub.
1) How to protect my gateway address? (with this DN will trace and get all private information from internet provider.)
2) How big of the server? The server will be busy with larger accesss? No pay to access in the future?
3) Fta Receiver with NIC for sharing media file is OK, but internet access for BIN or channels is not good idea at all, I think.
Thank you.

So, DN, or anyone else, can track your IP and it's information. You can use use a modem that randomly creates random IP's for your computer, but your ISP frowns upon that and they'll probably turn off your signal.
2) How big of the server? Unknown. It's not the size of the server, but rather the processor power and memory management features that matter. It doesn't need to be very big to share key info.
The server will be busy with larger accesss? With ihub, you'll be constantly connected, so again, it goes back to the servers procesor and memory capabilities. The more people who give $$$ to SV, the more money they dump into the server (I would think, anyways).
No pay to access in the future? No pay access at this time. That may not be in SV's best interest. It draws more attention to them, and would shun against most FTA testers.
3) Fta Receiver with NIC for sharing media file is OK, but internet access for BIN or channels is not good idea at all, I think. Then you shouldn't use it. Using an IP for ihub (or using IKS in NFusion's case) poses the exact same risk as downloading a bin file.
Thank you.

Hi,
I know your server can lock my IP for accessing to your web server for now.
I paid VIP member to your service and down load bin file, it is not mean I am watching DN for free. But the gateway address come from ihub, it means I watch DN for free.
I think that your adminstrator should unlock my IP now.
Thank you.

Sounds like work has a firewall up to diminish the level of non-approved surfing during work hours.

Re: How good idea ihub for bin or channels?
I have to disagree with your statement about an ihub being as risky as a bin download - you can download a bin fin anywhere and use it. An ihub is a DIRECT link to your home. there is no degree of separation there. Can someone tell me how to mask an ip address at my home? Thanks for the help if you can.

Hmmm....I'm sorry. I thought he was referring to the SV server, not ABA's. My bad if the answers were confusing in that case.

That's correct. Your SV is DIRECTLY connected to your modem, which is supplied by your ISP (internet service provider), which has a dedicated IP address. If anything, you'd want as many degrees of separation as possible...but ultimately it doesn't make any difference. As mentioned above, there are ways to "mask" your modem's IP, but your ISP will know about it because it jacks with their servers, and they'll send you a nasty little email asking you to stop, or they'll shut off your modem. (unless you're a super awesome internet hacker...in which case, i'd love to sit and have a beer with you)

Thanks for the response. I wish I was a super awesome internet hacker, I wouldnt be so leery about hooking up the dongle to my unit. Truth is, I havent even bought the 8000 unit yet because of the recent activity in the fta world. I want to believe, but I dont know if it will be worth it in the long run. From what I've read, most of the good channels are down for at least a month or longer. If I switch from cable to fta and cant get NFL in HD, I'll probably kill myself. Once again, thanks for the help. C
