SV iHUB RS232 Serial Extension Cord
Thanks go to Priestmill for this info.
c/p Members have been reporting that the iHUB, although have fit snugly during initial installation, have become a sloppy fit with a lot of movement about the com port. It will also drop down a little with the weight of the Ethernet Cable that leaves the back of the iHUB. Here is another solution, Using the DB9 Serial Extension Cord. You will need one end of the serial cable to be a male connector so it can be plugged into the comport on back of the SV. The other end needs to be a female connector so the iHUB can plug into it. Because this is a mere extension of the STB comport the cable "must" be a straight through cable. Not a null modem cable often referred to as a "twisted pair". So this excludes the cable that came with the SV. Actually, the cable that you have for using loader with have male connectors on each end. The advantage here is the connector can be fastened to the comport using the two bolts that fit though the connector itself. This will give an extremely tight fitting connection. See attached pictures. |
