A quick way to see if the server is up or not
Found this on another board and thought I would share it here. I tested it and it works very well:
If you suddenly don't receive channels or the channels black out for a while, don't go pulling cables or powering off and drive yourself nuts. Just do the following on your computer to see if the server is up or not:
On windows, go to command prompt and type the following:
telnet svftaiks.com 1920
(or)
telnet www.svftaiks.com 1920
If you quickly get a connection with a blank screen , then the server is up. You can type some characters and it will kick u out.
If you get an error saying it cannot connect, then the server is probably down for maintenance , and then your channels will black out.
thanks
For vista you will need to install the telnet client from the cd, for mac and linux, the terminal app will let you run telnet.

You're more than welcome. Much better than the morons that pulled the post on the other board I posted it on.
