iHub using port triggering instead of forwarding??!?
Dumb question, Im using 3 Netgear wpn824v3 with 2 ihubs connected wireless, to the 3rd basestation. If I use port forwarding it only allows me to forward to one ip. So is the proper way to open the port for 2 ips, done by port triggering instead. if so do I only open 1920 or is there a range like 1920 thru 1925 to support the traffic??!?? and then should it be set to (udp only) not tcp/udp
just wanted to know before I over tweak everything hehe Thanks in advance ohhhh Yeah TY sonicview team peace |

Re: iHub using port triggering instead of forwarding??!?
Only open port 1920. There is no need to open other ports. You could also put the static i.p of the ihub in the DMZ of your router as a last resort...that would grant it unrestricted access to the WAN. It also leaves it open to being probed by hackers though...lol.
Oh and the port 1920 listed by IANA is actually used for UDP and TCP. I would open the port for both of them....it won't hurt to. |

Re: iHub using port triggering instead of forwarding??!?
So does triggering kinda act the same as forwarding for the most part???
Thanks again I'll check and see if it will let me ad multiple IPs to DMZ to access port 1920 |

PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall Essentially porttriggering will only occur when the program is active and using the port. Port forwarding will open and leave open the port all the time...regardless if the program is using the port at that time or not. You can only have one i.p at a time in the DMZ of your router. |
