How to setup dialup connection for Ihub
XP “Internet Computer Sharing” Manual Server Setup for Dial-Up Connection
Before setting up the ICS server for a dial-up connection, make sure that you've completed the preliminary steps listed here. 1-Open the Network and Dial-up Connections folder. Then right click the Dial-up connection that you want to share and select Properties. The Properties sheet shows the network components associated with the connection. 2-Click the Advanced tab, then check Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection. 3-If you have more than one network adapter connected to local area networks, you'll see a screen instead. Click the down arrow and select the one to use for sharing the Internet connection. 4-Check Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet if you want the ICS server to automatically connect to the Internet. Otherwise, you'll have to connect manually whenever any computer wants Internet access. 5-Check Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection if you want to allow that capability on client computers running Windows 98, Me, or XP. 6- Click OK. If your local area network adapter already has an IP address assigned, WinXP warns you that it will change it. Click Yes to continue. With this setting you should be able to connect to the internet with the IHub |
