For Ihub Setup - BlackRock2.0 7/10/09
For Ihub Setup - BlackRock2.0
Thanks to Original Poster..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C&P =================== BlackRock 2.0 for Ihub Ok so far this has been working amazing, i went from a freeze every minute to none .... its super easy to use too, you open it, put a checkmark in NO Proxy if you dont have access to one and put a check in Auto Start and then press SAVE settings and press START at the bottom you see what your ip address is that the router gives you so remember that .... Go to your sv and in ipconfig menu, go down to Use DNS and go on NO and on ip address put your computer ip in there go down to Apply and then power down the sv and reach behind the stb and hard reboot it (OFF then ON) and that should be it ... If you have a proxy server you can use I'm sure you can figure out what line to add it in the Blackrock .... hopefully this works for you guys like it has for many that i know so far.......... end c/p c/p Here are the instructions as written by Priestmill, the author of blackrock: Hiding your IP address using TOR and Blackrock Software V2.0 First you need to download the TOR software and the Blackrock V2.0 software. Attachments for both these applications are included in the thread. A little information on TOR: Tor protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world. It prevents someone watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, and it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location. Tor works with many of your existing applications, including web browsers, instant messaging clients, remote login, and other applications based on the TCP protocol. BlackRock: This is software to bridge between SV ihub and Socks proxy (Tor). It actually works well with any device using IP Config as part of its operation. System Requirements:
Use these steps to get your setup working properly: 1-Install TOR on your PC (Needs to be always powered on). 2-Let it run. It will say things such as, "not enough directory info", etc and will finally stop, saying, "successfully opened a circuit". It's ready now. 3-Write down the IP address and Port number you see in there, usually 127.0.0.1 and port 9050. 4-Install BlackRock V2.0 on same computer as TOR was installed. 5-In the middle section called "Proxy Server (example: Tor) put 127.0.0.1 in *IP Address and 9050 in *Port, boxes. Whatever numbers you got from step 3 above. 6-Write down the PC IP Address from "BlackRock Server box on the bottom in *IP Address. Hit "Start Proxy" top right hand corner. 7-Go to SV STB, menu, setup and IP Config. 8-Change Use DNS to "NO" 9-Change Server IP address to the computer's IP address from step 6 above. 10-Go down to "Apply" and hit ok. 11-Reboot STB using rear power switch. (Hard boot). Notes: Most routers use a firewall and port 9050 may not be open for you as 1920 wasn't. You can run the PFChecker program to see if it is open. If not you need to open it. It is the same way as you opened port 1920 for the iHUB. Port forward 9050 to the local IP address belonging to the PC. New in BlackRock V2.0. Remote dns resolving instead of ip addy to iHUB server, now included in “IKS Server” section on top section of software is www.svftaiks.com. Blackrock will ask your proxy server to resolve the address. Older versions of BlackRock contained 77.93.75.115 in here and it had to be changed to 77.93.75.89.

Great post Buddy. But what is "see Step 3 above" referencing?? Same with Step 6 above??
Maybe if the steps were numbered first it would be easier to understand.

If you are having troubles with blackrock, a proxy ect, it works great using blackrock alone.....
C/P You dont have to use a proxy, tunneling, or other complicated things if you dont know how just do this: 1. Start Blackroc. 2. Click "no proxy" option on the right. 3. Write down the IP address and port from the bottom. 4. Hit the start proxy button on the right. 5. Go into your IP config on STB and change DNS to "no", then manually enter the IP address and port you wrote down in the server address. 6. Click apply and reboot from rear of STB. You should now have less freezing using Blackroc, there is nothing to it. End C/P I wont say the freezing stops all together as I havent tested it long enough, however the difference is night and day without blackrock and the difference is immediate.

I have a few minor freezes during "prime time" last night. I threw the hub into DMZ in the router (same router you are running) and it almost cleared it up completely during the peak time.
