First and foremost......Thanks to all who helped!
I changed router, rj cable, reset to factory and started with the factory file 176 then 203.
Leaving the usb stick in I put the hub with cable in and loaded the "f" file and rebooted useing the back switch for a 30 count.
I then turned back on and loaded the "p" file again switch off from the back for a 30 count.
Turned on and loaded my sats and scanned.
Network settings to network, AU's off, set time and was connected within 30 seconds.

Glad to hear you finally got connected!

I woke up about 10:30 this morning (hey it's Saturday) and turned on the tv and got the blue connecting notice - rebooted kbox - no help -- rebooted kbox and router/modem - no help -- shut off kbox from back, removed khub and pluged khub back in and held it in place while I rebooted and very gently removed my hand from holding it and wam bam got my tv again

At this point on my box anyway I'm positive that my connectivity issues are due to a less then secure connection between the v2 khub and the kbox! As soon as I can dig up a 9 pin 232 female to male adapter I'm going to try connecting the khub using my null modem 232 cable and see if that works - if I can't find an adapter around I was thinking I might just make sure I have a good connection and picture and hot glue the dang thing in place -
