Troubleshooting K-HUB Connectivity Issues:(right from KBOX FOLKS)
c/p
1. A high-speed (always on) Internet service is highly recommended. 2. For K1 PRODIGY: connect your KHUB directly to the back of your receiver, otherwise make sure you are using a null-modem (ie.black) serial cable to connect from your receiver to your K-HUB. For K-1 (Hero's) Plus: please make sure you are using a straight-Thur (ie. light Grey) serial cable to connect from your receiver to your K-HUB. 3. Check that the network cable from your router is in good shape by connecting to a laptop or desktop computer to make sure there is a connection. if the orange and green light on the K-HUB side( where the network cable connects) is constantly blinking this may mean that you have a bad network cable. Try a different network cable. 4. To reset all devices on your network, power off your modem and /or router, K-HUB and K-BOX for at least 5 minutes. Then power on all the devices one-by-one. 5. To reset your receiver's configuration setting, you can enter the NETWORK SETTING (from the Menu of your receiver) and choose FACTORY SET. If you are using STATIC, please try DHCP (recommended) Once you confirm FACTORY SET, exit the menus completely and save any changes . Power OFF the receiver with the remote control, and then power on the receiver with the remote control and wait up to 5 minutes. 6. For customers of certain Internet Providers (ie. satellite internet) they may be incompatibly problem with DHCP setting. Please try STATIC settings in the NETWORK SETTINGS menu. To find out what your gateway, subnet, and correct IPA Address range should be follow these steps: a) Login to a Window PC; b) Go to START, Run; c) Tupe in CMD and press the enter key (older Windows systems use COMMAND instead); You should get a black command prompt window; d) Type in IPCONFIG and press enter. 7. If you're using any kind of wireless or powerline adapters to bridge the connection between your router and K-HUB, Try a direct line (network cable) to test if it works with the adapters 8. You may be experiencing compatibly issues with your ROUTER. Try bypassing the router by connecting directly to your modem. 9. On the other hand, if you have a modem+router combination from your Internet provider, these may not work well and it's recommended to have a separate router from a good brand (such as D-link, Linksys, Netgear, etc.) 10. If your K-hub cmae with a power supple make sure that you are using the correct one. The power one should say 5V 1A. If you connect the wrong power supply (for another device) you risk damaging or overheating your K-HUB. Use only the original supple with your K-HUB. Thank go to Mr Bass This also applies to PRODIGY unit too. PS. When using powerline adapters make sure they are plugged into a Wall SOCKET and NOT into any EXTENSION . |
