Dish 500 Alignment Advice Needed
I would like to fine tune a dish 500 with dp plus lbn. Currently for 119 it is only getting a s of 70 and q of only 50 when using tp 12239. On 110 I am using tp 12224 and am getting s of 80 and q of 75-80. My question is when aligning sat 110 should i be using tp 12224 and sat 119 should i used tp 12239? I am concerned with the low s and q of 119 that i will start getting pixeling or loss of signal when bad weather arrives. My goal is to get a s and q of 80 or better on both sats. Any ideas or tweak suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My antenna settings are all correct just need some minor tweaking of the dish.

Re: Dish 500 Alignment Advice Needed
Change your TP to 12224 for both
Change your LNB to OCS DP
Use DiseqC switch Port 1 for 119 and port 2 for 110
From my experience, I would try to get the maxium Signal & Quality first for 119, then skew for 110. Skew Clockwise for Westcoat and Counter Clock for Eastcoat.

Re: Dish 500 Alignment Advice Needed
gh, the settings we all correct for what you suggested. I went to antenna settings and changed from tp 12239 to 12224 for 119, the result was my s only changed to 71 but everything was grayed out.(on 12239 s equals 70 green bar and q equals 50 orange bar. Previous to this discussion I had tweaked az to get the best readings using tp 12239 for sat 119 as my reference. Maybe tweak the skew next to see if I can get 119 to get better q

I read only your settings advice I am going to try to max 119 right now, and than skew 110. Thanks

Re: Dish 500 Alignment Advice Needed
When I tweak mine I go to a TP that has a very poor quality on it and tweak from that. That is bound to improve your good TP's quality that way.

Re: Dish 500 Alignment Advice Needed
you should be ok using gh instructions, alot of people have trouble finding both birds cause they dont know the correct way to align the dish. always set 119 to port 1 and find it first then skew to find 110 on port 2 works everytime if your settings are correct and yours are so you should be good to go. report back bud.

Re: Dish 500 Alignment Advice Needed
I first made sure it was plumbed true, then I maxed 119 and skewed 110. I just got done checking the strength of various tps and my local spot beam was previously q of 97, now it is 99-100. Today was a bad day probably to do this alignment it's overcast, but I am happy with the results. Thx everyone!
