noob here! need help with pc DVB

Hey I know this is my first postbut I really need help. I have been reading a lot here lately but I'm not sure what I need to be read for what I need. I will even pay for someone to do it but I don't know anyone who would do it for me around here. so please bear with me.

My dad did the installation for the satellite. I can watch echostar 10,11 and echostar 7 with viewsat vs2000 but I want to watch it on my pc which is in my room. I know that I need DVB card. I don't think I can get pci card since I already filled up 2 pci slots from my board. so I think my only choice is usb.

So my question is what do I need for my situation? can I watch those channels which is echostar 10,11 and echostar 7 with DVB pci or DVB usb thing? Do I need to do anything to the satellite?

Please help me out. You can even give me the link so I can read it. I don't even know where to start looking for the info that I need.

Hello and welcome!
DVB cards that use USB are pretty easy to come by. Just hook it up and go.
The only question is if you can watch satellite on your PC and on the TV at the same time.

I can't watch on PC and TV at the same time? can someone help me out with that question?

you will need a seperate dish to run to your pc so you can watch on pc while dad watches on tv try flebay for dish and lnb and usb hardware

Buy a 'beater' PC (used even) for about $100.00 and go from there, build yourself a Media machine around 'My Theatre' or equiv.
