HD receiver / HD dish

While I don`t agree with ALL the info here, I thought I`d post it for what info you can get out of it

If you are going to buy a HD Receiver you must remember to buy a HD Dish to receive the signal also, and at this time a Super Dish from Dish-net is the only company that has these dish’s out openly on the market. Remember it must say’ HD SuperDish-Dpp on the dish for it to be a real HD Dish.
With a SuperDish HD you will be able to receive programming in High Def on 129.0w, and 110.0w and 119.0w, this type of Dpp does not have a setup to Trunk to a port on the LNBF itself. So if you need to receive 91.0w , and 82.0w you will need another dish500 Dpp dual to trunk from. These configuration will allow for (5 birds setup to 2 receivers) using the dish-pro plus LNBFs.
Example:
1) 1st Dish500 Dish-pro plus setup to 91.0w,and 82.0w the LNBF will have a port 1, and port 2 on the LNB then a third port labled (in) for the (trunk) cable. These trunk-ing will allow you to use the internal switch built in the LNBs so you’ll only have to use a Switch Dp34 for this setup. (No other SW will be needed)
2) IF your going to add a (single LNBF dish to this configuration) you will need to run the cable thur your 1st dish500 Dp (in) or truck of the LNBF of the dish you have setup for 91,and 82 this will allow you to only use 2 RG 6 cables (out) to the DP34 switch, Port A, and Port B. This configuration will allow you to setup 61.5w, 82.0w, 91.0w thur (1) dish500 Dpp to your Dp 34 switch.(Remember you may not use a (twin) LNB for this type of setup).
3) HD SuperDish will allow setup for 129.0w in high def, and also 110.0w, and 119.0w in full High Def. Please remember this LNBF does not have a (in) truck contact on the LNB, so setup this Dish though your Dp34 switch on port C or opposite side (right hand side of Dp34 switch) for 129, and port D of your switch for 110.0w, and 119.0w. (rememeber your Dp34 might be a after market, so it might not say ports A,B, or C,D. It might have ports 1,2 or 3,4 from left side to right side. (Please remember your LNBFs on 129.0w will need to run on 2250 mhz, unlike the dish500 with can run under 2000 mhz.
4) This Dp 34 Switch is made for this type of dish setup, where a FTA Receiver is used instead of a of any Dishnet units. A Dp 64 switch was built for true HD switching, but does require a separate 12 volt power supply, unlike the Dp 34 switch that will run on your FTA ‘s power supply on 13v,and 18volts.(This switch does work with Viewsat HD Receivers, as well as other receivers on the market).
5) Power Supply the Dp34 switch will run on any FTA receiver’s power supply, just make sure you setup your RG 6 cable thur the correct ports on the switch, to power your switch in true HD.

My eye balls are fixed in their sockets, and blood is running down my cheeks. As I probably mentioned some time back. I have been looking for what`s needed for Hd, once all the bugs are worked out. It`s not looking too promising

for those who already have a dish 500 pointed to 119/110
you can simply add another 18" dtv or a 20" dish 500 and point it at 129
this sat uses the same circular lnbs as used on the dtv and dish 500
its starting a dish farm, not as clean and simple as the larger dish with all 3 lnbs but it is an alternative.

I was under the impression that most all the HDs are found on BEV currently, not DN.
Truth is, a dish is a dish...it might be bigger or smaller to get far away sats, but the LNB is what really matters.
So, does it require a different LNB to get HD signals?

then your probably on the west coast.
thats ok,because you can still get all channels that are on 61.5 they are located at 148w also.
61.5 for east coast,148 for west coast.
although the HD programming is different now,61.5 seems to be better.

Sat junkie, I started this article saying I didn`t agree with all of it for a reason. This HD stuff is changing day by day, depends on who you talk to. Some say you must use the HD SUPER DISH, for hd reception, and a 500 is fine for other sats. Others say that Dp & DPP lnb`s will work just fine since the receiver is going to do the transition from digital to HD, just won`t be analog any longer. What`s the sat to point to for hd, anybody's guess right now, unless your a mind reader. My solution to this problem was to go out and collect dishes, a few hd supers, a few 500`s, etc. Oh ya. and the guy that said you HAD to use the HD SUPER, tomorrow he`ll probably tell ya an empty paper cup with a string attached will do the trick ! (Oh, that was the telephone, oh well, you get the idea)

Re: HD receiver / HD dish

61.5 is located far east and the elevation is 19 degrees (look in the back of the dish ) in another word you must turn your dish all the way east and set it like it is aiming down almost to the ground.
