Re: I-Link Support question for Mods
I have been looking at the I-link for the last couple of weeks. I am aware that there has been some security issues posted around. But I would like to see the I-link having a section here. At least a help section. It could help out people who my be on the fence or anyone who has a question about the receiver.

I tested Sonincview, Kbox Pro and I-link.
I-link is the best of all.

Re: I-Link Support question for Mods
The time may have come where we need a forum now. When this system was first introduced security was a huge concern, and ABA's practice is to keep ours members as safe as possible, this not only includes safe files but safe practices as well. We as a site have no desire to be the first out there to post something just for the sake of beating everyone to the punch, we make every effort to test and investigate all forms of testing methods to insure they are safe. I assure you we are looking deeper into this and when we as a group feel that this is safe to be passed along to all the members we will do so. This may take a day or a week etc, there is a lot of research involved and takes a considerable amout of time to go through. So I ask, and thank you to be patient while we look into this for you and all the members here.

Re: I-Link Support question for Mods
People probably want to know what I like about ILink so I'll show you for word really mean little:
1) on the bottom of the channel menu there is the status of the connection (either Not connected for when your not connected to the server, and Connected for when your connected to the server)
2)Ilink relays messages through the box instead of forums for how accurate is the information from a forum... this is real time... the messages appear when you turn the channel... in this message it's telling you to enjoy the ppv event (wrestling) and yes it's on 455
3)Ilink has Locals for miami and PR which is a very big deal for people down here

Re: I-Link Support question for Mods
No one devalues the iLink ... or its importance to its customers but I think it is really important that we not insult or turn posts (opinions) personal.
Understand that STB's are not a religion, and while we often have an affinity for one Brand or another, they are afterall, just pieces of equipment.
Let's work hard to try to keep all of this in perspective. Personal attacks will NOT be tolerated.

Re: I-Link Support question for Mods
Just an update for anyone interested, I looked around for an Ilink IS-8000 receiver and they seem to be readily available from several major US retailers now. Seems as though the dealer network is growing. As Well the new IS-8000 requires no key from the dealer which was its major security issue to begin with.

Re: I-Link Support question for Mods
Here in Atlanta we have a great request for I-Link support just as we support this site, you scratch our backs and we will scratch for all concerned testers with site support.

Re: I-Link Support question for Mods
the mods have requested an Ilink section to be added and i'm sure it will be since the site is going through some renovations so just hang tight and if anyone needs any help feel free to post in other receivers section or general chit chat and we will get you the help you need
