Re: CS 4000 bin 188

1. Check your satellite setup making sure that you are getting signal from the correct DN birds. The upper right corner of the satellite setup screen shows which satellite you are connected to. For DN EchoStar 8,10, make sure it shows DN/110w EchoStar 8,10. And for DN EchoStar 7, it shows DN/119W EchoStar 7.

2. Goto key setup by dialing 8282 from your remote and make sure the first 4 tabs are setup for Nagra/Dish Network and not Nagra/ExpressVu or Nagra/Bellvue.

3. If still having problem, try clear NVRAM of the receiver and setup satellite, key, and blind scan again. Clear NVRAM by holding down channel up key and press the power button on the front of the receiver. The receiver will boot up to a diagnostic screen where you can select clear NVRAM option.

Note: when you blind scan for channel, scan 110w first. Cold boot the receiver by flipping the power switch on the back of the receiver. Tune to a channel and wait about 1-3 min for the key autoroll to kick in. You should see picture on ur screen. Give it a couple more min for it to complete unlocking other channels.

Good luck.

I am using CS4000 since 2003 , so i believe I am very much familiar with this receiver, signal, srtting everything is ok.Are you getting picture using CS4000?
I am not sure whether it is the same issue like previous 187 bin, those CS4000 made in China were not working but made in Korea were working.
Only moderators can confirm.

Re: CS 4000 bin 188

I'm having the same issuse for the 2 latest bins. I get nothing but scrambled channels. Box was made in Korea also. Box was working with fine before bin 186. Settings were never touched so dont know what else to do. Feeling a little helpless.

Thanks for your input on this problem with CS4000.
I read your post earlier tonight & wanted to test it before I made any comments.
I tried #3 solution and had no luck with it.
What you are saying in #3 is the same thing I linked below. >>>

http://www.abadss.com/forum/41-cools...l-problem.html

I thought you were on to something, as I recall doing this procedure about 2 years ago to fix a similar problem.
It worked back then...but not this time.

I am watching close for a solution to this problem & will post it as soon as I can figure it out...testing.

Re: CS 4000 bin 188

For some reason, coolsat 4000 is not working. I have coolsat 4000, 5000, and 6000 and the only one that doesnt work when i put the files is coolsat 4000.
I have tried everything but nothing works. I know my receivers really good. I put 188 for the 5000 and 6000 and work great but the 4000 disapointed me again!
