card reader in coolsat 5000 - ABA DSS

hello i am new here so if this has been posted or is in the wrong section please point me in the right direction.

I have a coolsat 5000 with a card reader, is there an way to get a h@cked smart crd and use it in the coolsat? or can i just plug in the card i have from dish into it so it works,

I have another question but i am not sure if it is appropriate to post, so can i pm a mod who has knowledge about d!sh netwok?

Hello and welcome. The reader needs the software to go with it and there isn't any software for it. With or without the reader, your cs receiver is, and will only be, good for true fta.

This forum does not cater too people using or inquiring for help in the use of smart cards or and other type of plastic. Your coolsat should be used only for true fta, do not waste time with what you are hoping or wishing you could do with it.

If you pop the cover on that Coolsat, you will discover that the card slot is jut that, a hole. No card reader is there.

hey i know what your saying, my friend has one thats just a hole. but i have had to open up my coolsat and there is actually a card reader in there.

Sorry if i posted in something that is not allowed, i guess i will just pay $65 for the international stations i want

I installed a card reader in my 5k after N2 came in. Before the standalone came out, there was a fix using a aux card.

this will help you out a bit but that is far as we go on this becuase we do not do cards here jst fta but here is the bin for aux for the old card not sure what or how you would do anything with a n3 card have fun
