Re: Coolsat .stb file edit
This thread was created awhile ago but I have been trying to figure out the cs6k files myself in all hope of not having to wait for coders. If any new insight has become available I would be excited to read and play around with! Thanks Fake1 for the original thread. No one else talks about this "sensitive" info. Plus I would like to find out RSA keys.

Re: Coolsat .stb file edit
My guess is no they don't have the lastest. The way I figure is that there are a lot of people out on the net and one of them would have uploaded the files already to a public site.

Re: Coolsat .stb file edit
I know how to convert the .stb to .bin and be able to edit the file but I don't really know what to edit to get the bin to work. I tried and failed although I was able to reconvert the bin to a stb again. Any insight of what to do? You can also just send me a private message too.

The Coolsat 5k have the CX24142/3/ Processor
Part Number CX24142/3/6/7
Description Single-Chip FTA and FTA-CI
Full-Featured Development Platform The CX24142/3/6/7 IC family is integrated into a fully engineered STB reference
development system that implements third-party interactive middleware/RTOS
platforms and provides complete STB functionality. The hardware platform
comes equipped with fully integrated Nucleus+, pSOS and VxWorks runtime
libraries and driver software components. A mature and robust hardware
abstraction layer is assured by re-use of core driver libraries developed on
previous generation ICs. The development platform set-top box hardware is
designed in a two-layer PCB configuration and includes a choice of two robust
tool chain development environments for code developers: ADS 1.2 from ARM,
Inc. and Tornado 2.2 from WindRiver Systems, Inc. Conexant offers a complete
development code solution that has been tightly integrated with both third party
tool chain environments.
Best Regards

Assembly language is a low level machine code compared to java or c++ which is a high language. Assembly uses Hex bits to store data.
Look at Google for a better example. I took an assembly class and find it much easier than most programming language.

Re: Coolsat .stb file edit
Dealing with the cs programming you don't need an assembly compiler as it is done in a high language. Best and only working prog is ARM. Just a couple things left!
