well thers your problem eventhough the cable for the coolsat and pansat may look the same they are not...you need one for a coolsat

Both type of serial data cables look the same & both have 9 pins.
CoolSat5000 uses the straight type...you have the null. (meaning some connections are bridged)
Go to ebay & search for "RS-232 Serial Data Cable" & get one for a few bucks.

cs5000 acting weird, with bin 175 and latest keys still getting scambled channel. with a/r on ends up changing the keys to something different(then the ones listed here)and tv comes back(still doing the no video every 3-5 mins though)...not to sure maybe the bev keys are wrong on this site? anyone else having this problem?

This sounds like morphing of the keys.
Just turn autoroll OFF & enter the correct keys to fix.

If the 175 bin still won't open the channels...then try bin 173. (it still works)

The best tool/guide I ever found to use the loader is "CoolSat for Dummies".

I had a problem like that also it was the computors comm port, might be your
problem.
