Re: See u in the viewsat forms!
Wonderful n welcome to the exciting world of Viewsat line of recievers.
Ultra is reliable -user friendly-cost effective n has a huge ownership following..my VS PLAT the gud old workhorse is loyal as ever n a gr8 joy to enjoy..
Wonderful interactive support forums n gr8 resources rt here 2 ABAdss..to take it to the next level of enhanced entertainment folks..
BTW:: FTA recievers have nothing to do with changes coming for moving from the alalog to digital signal-they are all digital yes for HD n not HD that's a consumer choice to make on indivisual facination and budget..

Re: See u in the viewsat forms!
sorry about the confusion. yep, digital not the same as HD; i had some wine when i posted the earlier one when i was trying to say that if we have to upgrade from CS4,5,or 6 to a new box, might as well go for a HD one.
i just finished watching HD on a 37 LCD at a hotel for three weeks and came home with my CS5K with NO TV at all.
if u guys like sports, HD on a LCD is sweet. u can see the pores of players' face.
viewsat is not tied to CS, right? others here have said that CS also owns another product/brand. if we have to spend $, we should not giving them to CS.

Re: See u in the viewsat forms!
It doesn't, digital is the format that the signal is sent out as, all sat signals are digital, If you have a TV antenna up the side of your house, thats analogue. If you don't know don't comment.

Re: See u in the viewsat forms!
Hey cobra, lighten up. He said he was sorry. We get cranky sitting around waiting for the next bin. This is the longest that cs 4,5,6, have been down I believe. They defintely have been down more than up. Like it or not, time to upgrade. The only question is ---to what. Cool Sat is banking that it will be to one of their newer models. As for myself, I'm waiting on delivery of my sv4k.

Come next year our receivers will still be available for viewing, of course if we still keep getting new bins. HD will not be required for viewing TV. HD is not a type of signal that comes into your home. It's a type of picture quality that your receiver sends to your HD TV.
If I'm wrong maybe someone that's more knowledgeable can shed some light.

Re: See u in the viewsat forms!
Sorry! Should've read Page 2 before posting. Thanks to all for clearing that up.
Hey Kat - I switched to Captive Works earlier this year when all this fun CS stuff was happening and I'm very happy with the CW, easy to use and create support.
