Steps to make your coolsat ready with card
HardWare Needed:
1. You will need a CoolSat with a card reader
2. open rom 102
3. ISO loader
Software Needed:
1. N2Edit
How To Prepare Your CoolSat:
1. Unplug the AC power
2. You will need to install the card reader in the CoolSat by removing the 5 screws that hold the case cover on. There should be two on the bottom and three on the back of your CoolSat.
3. Place the CoolSat with the front facing you and you will see the mother board has a plug socket on the bottom right corner. This is where you plug in your card reader. You should hold up on the corner of the motherboard when plugging in the card reader. I have heard of people cracking their motherboard when plugging in the reader, so be careful.
4. Mount the reader to the case and replace the top cover.
5. Write the 125 bin to your CoolSat just like you would with any other bin.
How To Write Your Card:
1. Connect your ISO loader to your PC and put the 102 card in the loader
2. Open the N2Edit Software.
3. On the N2Edit program click on Card on the Toolbar at the top. This will give you three options choose Read From Card. When it is done it will say Card Image Read Successfully and give a Total Read Time.
4. You will want to save your original bin from your card by clicking on File on the toolbar then choose Save Image and put it somewhere on your PC where you will know where it is in case you need it again down the road.
5. Now click Tools on the toolbar and you will see three options and you select Clean Codespace. Instantly you will see Card Cleaned Successfully under Total Read Time. This actually has not cleaned your card it has only cleaned the image you just read from the card.
6. Now click Card on the toolbar and select Write To Card. When it is finished it will say Card Image Written Successfully and give you the Total Write Time. This step has written the clean image back to the card and now you know for sure that your card is clean and ready to write.
7. Now click File on the toolbar and select the Open Image option. You will then have to find the AuxCard.bn102 File from your PC highlight it and click Open.
8. Now Click Card and select Write To Card. When it is done it will say Card Image Written Successfully and Give the Total Write Time.
9. Now remove your card from the ISO and place in the reader of your CoolSat.
This should get you up and running.

I have a CS5000 and have an X2 card reader. Does the card the comes with the X2 good for writing the 125 or 126 bin? Can it be substitute with the 102 card? Thanks.

Rom 102
How do I tell if my rom 102 card is open or not? All I have is the card and the DN receiver that It goes to. Is there a way to tell if it is open with the DN receiver? If not, what equipment do I need? Sorry if it is posted somewhere but I was looking and did not see anything. I will appreciate any help. Thanks

No, They are cards that came with the receivers when I subscribed. After the 18 month contract was up, I told them that I didn't want their service anymore. They all do get the preview channels. So I hope that does mean that they are unlocked. Thanks for the help bel71281. If there is anyone else that has info on how to tell if a rom 102 card is locked or unlocked by using only the DN receiver, Please let me know. I only have the DN receivers and I don't have any seperate equipment to test the cards. Please, how do I know if they are locked and unlocked. I will appreciate any help. Thanks

Using N2edit with a ISO programer (3.68 xtal) and you see the above message, it is either password locked or stream locked. Password locked, you need a password to open a card that has been programed or use a modded loader, as the modded T911, to unlock it or a stream locked card.

Since the 2 cards that I have were the ones I used when I subscribed For the 18 month contract, and they both still get the preview channel, then they should be open and ready to go, right? Do you know why and when they stream lock cards? I was going to buy 2 more from someone but I wanted to make sure they were open and how I would know if they were stream locked. I don't have a reader or loader or any of that stuff. I just want to make sure if there is or isn't a way to know if the card is good with just the DN Receiver? If I need a loader and that's the only way to tell then I will get one. I just want to see if I can use what I have for now. Bel71281, you said if you were not mistaken, if I get the preview channels then the card is unlocked and ready to go. Does anyone else know about this? Thanks to the members that have already helped me. I appreciate all of the help. Thanks.

Here let me put it this way for you, most of the cards are locked and you have to unlock it yourself. How can you tell if it's locked or unlocked? Read my post above yours
